If they took it to court, and none of the individual hunters admitted to taking more than their legal limit.....then what?

No sense in recommending the electric chair unless you have strong enough evidence to successfully convict.   And we here in America should BE THANKFUL of that.

Actually, if I was a member of that group, I'd say  "Hey, I only shot 3 of them, so phuck those guys".    I'm only responsible for myself.  And I'm sure that's the way it will play out..... unless all of those guys are total idiots.

They have the proof that at least one person in the group is lying, if they all claim to have only taken their limit or less.  All they can do is treat the group as a single unit and prosecute the entire group the same.

The group would be wise to put all the blame on ONE person(so only one has a criminal record), but share the fine(s) behind the scenes.

Lying is not a crime.   Neither is keeping your mouth shut.     They can't "charge them as a group".   They couldn't even do THAT to the Branch Davidians, or the Manson family.

And no, the group would be "wise" to shut up and say nothing.

You are correct. In fact, had this happen in Minnesota.....got caught on stupid mistake of having too many lines in the water ice fishing(had un-attended lines in ice shack down) and fishing outside shack. Game warden was a super nice dude and highly advised our group of 3 that one of us should take the blame and the other 2 pay him the fine. Stepped away and let us sort out the details.

WTH?   You still have to skin them !

No American squirrel hunter is gonna do that. Sounds like a "wet market" practice to me.   If you're worried about getting fur on the meat, just dip them in a bucket of water.

Can your even imagine what that smells like?  🤢.

I think they eat them with skin on or char the skin enough the meat peels from the backside of the skin.

I don't know or understand the process but I do know I wouldn't want to skin several hundred squirrels which is what your looking at. The derbies are the same way.

He outsmarted you.  Talked you into making his job easier on him.

Actually what HE did was more illegal than what you boys did.   And broke his oath by doing it.   If you could have recorded that little interaction and taken it to the prosecutor......you could have owned his truck AND HIS BADGE.   I can't believe they don't teach this stuff in high school anymore.

Besides......if you're out on the ice can't you see the game Warden coming before he gets close enough to inspect what you're doing?   🤫
