I have two fishpond nets (pricy) one short handle and one long handle "Nomad"... The long handle Nomad boat net is the one I keep in the TW. Buuuutt.... I had a challenging time of fitting a 24 inch+ brown in it with a guest fishing from the boat... after that I think maybe I need a bigger net for those special occasions.

I hate to rabbit hole a thread with this tangent....but it is net related...! wouldn't mind some insight for others in this thread on how you manage hogs and what your preferred big boy net is... I kinda like this one ham is using. Wider mouth..  I kinda like Frabil's collapsible or Attwood fold and stow.

Boat nets to me are fairly simple. Where do you store it then buy the biggest one to fit that seems to work for me until I get into striper or catfish.

I ended up buying the EGO S1 Genesis for wading.

17"x 19" head and those are generous measurements. I bought it with a 24" screw in handle but leave it off for wading. Overall from handle to end of hoop is 26" so its not that different from my wooden cheapy. Floats.....only thing I don't like is the handle is larger and I have big hands to begin with.

One thing that helps significantly is how deep the basket it. Here is a chunker I caught this weekend and had no problem scooping him off the walkway at Roaring River.

Eric my guide net is just deeper than almost any net I've used.   I'll have it with me next week so you can check it out.   They're still made, but pricey,  but I won't put anything less than a 2 footer in it.  It's built for the bigguns.  It's light weight though so I don't mind carrying both at night. I'll never be in that situation again lol

I feel that is the key to landing those bigger fish. My net seems to be 12 to 14 inches deep. Nice trout by the way. Neat looking male.
