Dutch Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 This may be directed to Cheesemaster and Quillback. You guys seem to use jerk baits often. I’ve had a few so so trips on Table Rock and one banner trip on Stockton. Mostly I work them for a while get frustrated and pull out my shaky or Ned setups. Monday I am going to Cape Fair and fishing down toward Piney. If you were going, what color do you think would be best?
Quillback Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 I was more of an expert 12 years ago when I could really catch them on the JB. Last few years I have gotten really dumb on fishing those things. I have been getting a few on the Table Rock Shad color early and then they seem to quit biting it. There's been a little bit of top water activity early too and I'll throw the JB at them when I see them on top. Sometimes they'll hit it. Terrierman 1
Dutch Posted November 28, 2021 Author Posted November 28, 2021 I think I have a Stacey pointer in that color. Isn’t it chartreuse with a purple back?
cheesemaster Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 I have been having pretty good luck with the Northern Secret- I like it better in the clearer water. When the water is a little more stained I like the Table Rock Shad. The TRS has a flash that I think can been seen farther in the stained water. Just my thoughts - no science. And I have been using the Vision110 jr plus 1. I like the smaller profile and it gets down to 8 feet or so.

Yes, I think they call that Plum Apple Green or something like that. I have seen Champ catch bass on it over here in Bella Vista. That is his favorite "secret" color and model. 😄

Luck-E-Strike Rick Clunn STX Jerkbait - Tackle Warehouse The one I really have high hopes for this year is the new Berkley Stunna designed by Hank Cherry. That guy does know what he's doing with a jerk bait. My top three color choices in it would be Northern Lights, Table Rock and Shad Fillet. Dutch Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 It has turned into a mute point. I’m not going to get down there today.

I won't touch the Clunn bait, heard too many bad things about them since they came out. On the other hand the Cherry Stunna looks like it might be a great bait, would love to hear how it casts and runs back to the boat. I don't get too much into colors. that shad fillet looks like one of the pointers I throw.
