Though I enjoy the solitude of being on the water by myself, I do miss having a fishing partner.   I would welcome having a co-angler.

About me:
Retired contractor from St. Louis.  I’m planning to fish weekdays mostly.  Not keen on freezing temps or hard rain, but do love to be on the water at first light.  Not a die-hard dawn to dusk guy.  Reasonably experienced recreational bass fisherman, but also interested in other species.  Sold my place on Tablerock because of the crowds and got a place 10 minutes from Bull Shoals Marina where I now keep my bass boat.  I’m easygoing with a sense of humor.  Im just learning the lake and have booked a guide (Del) for once-a-month outing & education.
Respectfully,

Mike

Mike, In just a few months Del is going to have you knowing more than me about the lake.
That’s Awesome and Good Luck!

Keep us posted on how the area suits you, Mike. I've had similar thoughts about bailing out on TR recently. Big hang up for me is the seemingly inevitable flood, and inaccessibility, at Bull every year.

That’s why I don’t go down there anymore.  I used to do a lot of night fishing out of Tucker Hollow.  We’d see one or two boats on our way to Horseshoe Bend, maybe hear one leaving about dark then have the lake to ourselves the rest of the night, but not with it being 30’ high.

I have been here a year now, though much of my time was getting the house updated. (no luck finding available contractors in the area).  I was pleased to find a solid house in Lakeview, with good neighbors, at a fair price, and make a solid gain on the TR house.  By last summer housing stock appears to have become scarce and pricey.

.  I, too, was frustrated with launching difficulties, especially doing it alone in flood stage.  I had become spoiled by having my boat on a private dock lift, a brief walk from my place on TR.  I was lucky to get a reasonably priced marina slip where I put in a lift.  The Marina had “water taxi” pontoon boats every day so it was never an inconvenience.

Consensus seems to be that Bull Shoals will continue to be the “holding pen” for the Corp, so repeated extreme water fluctuations are a probability.   The big payoffs here are the wonderfully friendly local people and the unspoiled beauty.

Y’all (and All Y’all) are most welcome to contact me and arrange to come see and fish the lake.  I have spare bedrooms, as I set this place up as summertime “Grandkid Bait” Lol.

Pepe, message me sometime and I'll come and tag along.  I'm off most wednesdays and hit the upper end of the lake a lot.  I've rarely ever been lower than Lead Hill area and would welcome checking out the other parts of the lake.  I have gas money too...lol

I've had thoughts about moving to somewhere around Mountain Home myself someday.  All the lakes around here are getting hammered with fishing pressure and in the summer the rec traffic is getting bad too.
