gotmuddy Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 Messing with the motor a little tonight, figured I would re-shim and sharpen the impeller. I'd say it looks great considering I've not looked at it for over a year and have pumped oysters and gravel thru it. jdmidwest Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 Pump grease thru the fitting every time and you should be good. Has that little cone shaped nut give you any more power like they say it will? "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

jdmidwest Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 I tried filing mine last summer, that metal is pretty hard or I had a dull file. Either way, I did not change it much. snagged in outlet 3 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

After looking at this one I would never mess with an aluminum one. Maybe if I had a 3 blade the boat would be a little faster. snagged in outlet 3 1 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

jdmidwest Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 Mine are factory aluminum I think. They are pretty hard though. I have seen the ads for the cone shaped nuts, may help with the vortex some. But it would be hard to tell. Probably just hype. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Members Jadesjigs Posted January 19, 2022 Members Posted January 19, 2022 If you ever need to replace the liner or impeller, I would definitely recommend The Jet Doctor in Ellington, Mo. I called them on Tuesday and wasn't for sure exactly what size I needed. I gave them the yr and make of the jet. I had everything shipped and to my door by Friday!! Excited to see how much of a difference the new parts make. My old liner was really worn and the impeller was shimmed down all the way. Below, are pics of the new vs old equipment. snagged in outlet 3 and grizwilson 2

Yeah, if you want "performance enhancement" then run without the grates.....I dare ya😁 You'll definitely notice the throttle response improvement....if that's what's important to ya. You won't have to worry about leaves either. 🙂
