It's like a 27 minute video of how to tie a two minute fly. Two weeks trying to read "winter" and he had yet to reach the river. He did a grand job of describing the airports as I recall. fishinwrench 1

Expand Kelly Galloup has that affliction as well. But at least he himself acknowledges it. 😂 tjm, BillT and nomolites 2 1
tjm Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I haven't read Galloup's books yet and probably won't because his ties are more complicated than I need. I'm kinda a Rhode, Gartsides or Nixon fan when it comes to big streamer design. Really big streamers ain't something I use often anyway since all the bass in my creek seem to be <5# .

Expand I don't know if Galloup has any books out, but in his videos he derails himself constantly. 😂 I'm not very interested in the oversized articulated stuff either. It doesn't take the biggest fish in the river/lake to satisfy me. I'd rather catch 3 three-pounders than one 9 pounder, pretty much any day. 🙂
tjm Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 3 three pounders (or any size) makes a nice day and one of any kind makes a boring day "Cripples and Spinners", "Modern Streamers for Trophy Trout", "Modern Streamers for Trophy Trout II" I don't have enough patience for most videos, I did watch most of one of Galloup's on choosing deer hair because it was highly recommended and deer is material I dislike using, so thought I might pick up a clue. I didn't.
fishinwrench Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Speaking of things we don't have the patience to watch......My wife has been watching this "Darcy and Stacey" show almost every night.....HAVE YOU SEEN THIS? WTF? Why don't they just call this show what it's REALLY about ? Titties! There's no story line here, nothing going on that anyone could possibly be interested in. It's just a repetitive montage of...... "Look at my titties in this outfit"......Now look at my titties in THIS ONE"...... "Oh, now look at the incredible side boob that THIS dress displays". "Uh oh, watch close.... because my titties just might fall out of THIS ONE !" Jesus H Christ 🙄 Talk about burning you out of what once was a good thing. Who actually watches this BS ?

Search engine found it though and those look bolt on, so a mechanic should be interested at least in the attachment and operation. TV has never been worth the effort to me. Beats any pill for inducing sleep though.

Expand I guess it helps if you live in the country-- we were living on the Olympic Peninsula across the Strait of Juan de Fuca and a couple of hours south of Campbell River-- and fishing for the same species. But the books were not so much instruction manuals as inspiration for me. Haven't read any of his books in a couple of decades, so my tastes may have changed, though. I did find one of his novels and was didn't care for it at all. I did take one of his flies, the Western Steelhead Bee, and morph it into a deer-hair winged version that I could fish on the surface on the swing. Caught my largest searun cutt on it.
