I can keep things frozen, not cold, FROZEN, for 5 days in the hot summer sun. One of those big heavy things might do it longer but I can't see where that is beneficial with all the extra added weight.

If I had a boat out on the salt I would definitely own one. But a few days out around here it is very unnecessary. Just wear the trucker Yeti hat and people will think you are plenty cool.

I have a 45 Rtic, a 70 Vibe(they make kayaks), a 25 orca, and a 20 yeti. The added weight sucks for sure, but if you want/need to keep ice its a must to have a cooler that is air tight and has an insulated lid.

Dude, a 6 pack?  I have fished with you...... a case for us would look strange behind the boat.

my theory is in less than 10 minutes of soaking a 6 pack would cool down enough(in spring anyways) to be ready for a cooler....but I would probably just drink the beer cowboy cold.

We are going out mid spring for the 7 or 8 night trip. We have a yeti 35 and a yeti 20 which really isn't a ton of cooler space but I think with the dry ice we will make it work. We really don't have room for any bigger coolers as we are using paddle boards with the coolers having seats mounted to sit on. Pre-cooling the beer in the river makes sense, thanks for that idea.

If you put a layer of plastic like a plastic garbage bag under the cooler lid when you close it, it will provide dramatically more insulation than without.  Just that pocket of air between the lid and the plastic.  Boy scout trick I've been using for years.

The paddle board is actually a pretty comfortable setup. I've got hundreds of miles on this board and the only downfall is the drag. They are suction cups on the water but after a few days you stop feeling the muscle fatigue and just keep paddling.
