JestersHK Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Hey I like my cheeseburgers With my luck I'd break something important... me and ice don't get along.
Dutch Posted February 3, 2022 Author Posted February 3, 2022 Ice is not my friend. A few years ago I stepped out the back door to take some recycling to the bin. There was ice I did not see. My feet went higher than my head and I landed on a concrete step with my ribs. I broke 3 ribs and ruptured my right lung. That took a trip to the hospital and a knife wound to let all of the lung gore shoot out. The ribs didn't heal properly. snagged in outlet 3 and JestersHK 2
Terrierman Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 I've got a story about slick roads and a torn rotator cuff but I'll spare you all the gory details, unlike some people we know.🤢
oneshot Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 My neighbor keeps tabs on me. Called my wife. You know what your husband is doing? Yes shoveling snow. He told me he was going to. oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 I bladed everything with the tractor, but there is a thick sheet of ice under the snow. I guess it switched from rain to snow pretty quickly and the first of the snow soaked up and became a layer of ice. The rest of the snow drifted so badly I can't tell how much we got. Headed to Springfield in a little bit for Dr. Appt. Will see how the roads are, I have plenty of time so not in a hurry. 4wd, new tires and a dozen concrete blocks in the bed, heck even a little oxygen tank in the passenger seat in case I get winded too badly. grizwilson 1
Dutch Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 My link says at 2:22 pm yesterday you had a total of 6.5”. I don’t have a newer figure. Be safe on your trip.

I have Doctors in Springfield but only see them once a month. No Doctors here in Lebanon will see me because I’m on Pain Medication. Had one Doctor here operated on me supposed to be 3 hours I don’t know how long it took but the Doctor was with me 18 hours keeping me alive. He was going to send me to Springfield but he said I wouldn’t make it. I had to go to Columbia to be operated on was to take 4 surgeons 4 hours it ended up taking 8 surgeons 8 hours. I had Radiation every day in Springfield and my Cancer Doctor is there. oneshot

Be safe on your trip. "Official" total here 11". I have drifts every bit of 3'. Some areas bare ground. I had to dig out the garage service to door to get to the birdbath. Sidewalk around back is deeper than muk boots. Birdbath frozen except a small pool in the middle with the heater. Birds couldn't get at it because the snow was a foot deep on it. They are on it now though!!!👍
Dutch Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 I waited too long to get the snow blower out. The drive is wet under the snow and the snow is so wet the blower can’t throw it out. It looks like Mother Nature is going to be in charge.
MrGiggles Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 I think the totals here were somewhere around 6-8". Hard to tell because of the wind and drifting. Some areas were just a crust, and some drifts would go over your boots. The worst of it was all the rain before hand, so you had all that snow over sloppy mud. I went to KC to see Gabriel Iglesias with my brother on Thursday night. Most of the roads were pretty clear but 13 between Clinton and Warrensburg was pretty dicey, especially at 1AM. The show was worth it though. We are at the stage now where most of it's melted but what's left over freezes into a solid sheet overnight, makes for a rough ride in the mornings. -Austin
