How many of you in this deal are taking steps to stop this travesty?  Are you and your followers doing anything about it? Contact your congress man or woman and get something done?

I have no followers.   Members of Congress are going to do, or fail to do, whatever they want.  So is the oversight committee.  And so is MDC.

They don't require votes for, or in opposition to, anything.   The war on lead has been going on for ages and nobody in Congress gives 2 farts about how important lead is to ME & YOU.   And in spite of what they project publicly they don't give 2 farts about the effects of lead in the environment either.

If they decide to ban it then they will.  No phone calls or letters are going to change their minds.  We are forced at gunpoint to pay their salaries regardless.

Personally I don't think lead ammo will ever be completely banned.  Not until a better alternative is designed anyway.   Waterfowlers forced to abandon lead shot don't seem to be overly effected by it.

Believe it or not, Lead is bad for you.

But this has been coming for a while.  The industry has had a chance to come up with alternatives.  Unlike the waterfowl lead shot ordeal that took years for tungsten and bismuth and better steel shot and killed the use of older barreled shotguns.  The bullet manufacturers have been working with all copper for a while and it works.  And the all copper pellets are pretty fast and accurate.

And they really can't jack ammo up much higher.

They will not do away with lead till they choke the last lead mines out of existence.  But they will do that soon.  Not that copper mines are any cleaner.

Lead used to be the cheapest source for the ammo.  But our EPA has driven most lead production overseas.  Herculaneum Mo.was the last lead smelter around USA and it shut down a few years ago. Most mines ship ore out by barge now.  One reclaims lead batteries and other products by Bixby.  All have paid heavy fines for cleanup in areas the operated in for 100+ years.

And the price if lead has skyrocketed.

Is it even possible to ban it for the purpose of making ammo and fishing weights without also banning it for making computers and the myriad of other electronic items ?

Massachusetts banned lead sinkers and jigs several years ago.  I don’t know about computers and stuff.

Are those green/hybrid cars' batteries made of lead? I had guessed they had something to do with lead shortages and escalating cost.

State and Federal Legislators propose stupid stuff ALL THE TIME. Most of it is stuff that has no chance, but its done to satisfy donors, and its used to raise funds by the opposition. I did what you asked, send me another check...Did you see what the evil DumoRemnocraps want to do? Send me a check. Meh..

I think California banned lead bullets for hunting already.  Buzzards were getting dumber from eating lead infested carcasses left by hunters.
