FishnDave Posted May 18, 2022 Author Posted May 18, 2022 I changed to a different fly that has hooked and landed gar for me in the past. Woolly Bugger. DID get some gar landed yesterday evening! Also caught a couple small White Bass: And a couple Grass Carp: BilletHead, Daryk Campbell Sr and Johnsfolly 3
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 I had some gar take the bugger Saturday morning, but could not keep them on. Kind of best of both worlds. I didn't have to remove them from the water and got a good fight on the fly rod. snagged in outlet 3, FishnDave, BilletHead and 1 other 4 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. tjm Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Uncle and his friends used to fish for gar with a 6-8" piece of frayed nylon rope and teeth tangle them. I wonder if a fly rod model of that rope couldn't be made with frayed Bonnie Braid?
