That's a great idea.

Looks beautiful 😍

How heavy is it ?  And are you gonna build paddles ?

From Northwest Canoe Company the design company's website:

Specifications

Overall Length  16 ft.

Rocker - Bow Stern  1 / ½

Beam at Gunwales  26½ in.

Maximum Beam  29 in. 3 in.

Waterline  27 in.

Sheer Bow  16 in.

Amidships Depth  12 in.

Sheer Stern  14 ½ in.

Approx Weight  42 pounds

I do plan to build paddles,  but they will be a while.   If I was wise, I would have started on them in the spring/summer while still building up stamina and strength.   I still have a but to do on the canoe.   I need to sand down the final coat of epoxy, and varnish the outside.  Then flip, sand, fiberglass and sand the inside.   Then gunwales,  decks and a seat.  I plan to make the seat out of webbing and foam. I contemplated caning a seat, but I really don't believe I will.

I do plan to use the slide board that made a bridge from the wheelchair to wherever I would move to a seated position as my decks.  It already has holes cut out for handles.   And I think it will be a good piece, as it was a big part of my life during this time.

Today's updates.  I had to sand the fill coats, (you can see the fiberglass weave), and  a couple casualties (bugs).  Applied a final coat, and glassed the stems closed.  Gonna let the final coat cure about a week, maybe 2.
