Maverickpro201 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 How long, hour wise per day, do you leave your grow light on for? Say for tomato starters, etc Thanks
Brian K. Shaffer Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Indoor times will vary. I say it depends on the strength of your light. But I do not grow starter tomatoes. Maybe someone else ? Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
ness Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 I go around 14-16 hours. You can do too much light; plants need dark too. Daryk Campbell Sr and tho1mas 2 John

Fish24/7 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 The timer turns it on at sunrise and off at sunset. I adjust the timer as needed as the days get longer . Haven't started anything yet though.

fishinwrench Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Your meter is spinning away. Veggies aren't that expensive. If you're gonna pay for sunlight then may I suggest that you rethink your choice of crop..... to something with a higher monetary yield. 🤔

Right on, but a tomato in the 80's wasn't expensive then......and still isn't. For the cost of building/buying the circuitry to affix your LED's to.....you could feed us all perfectly healthy veggies for 4 months. Our grocery store has DELICIOUS tomatoes and various other produce. I just can't, for the life of me, wrap my head around "Gardening". Buying pots, building boxes, buying special soil, assembling lighting, herbicide, pesticide, pruning and fussing about...... All over a salad 🙄
