Now that the tequila buzz has worn off, I'm not so sure... better save your money. I can't dance like I used to.

Do you guys think those already swam up from the lake or just leftovers from last year? They are likely left overs from the previous year. They make that run every spring when the James floods and then get stuck. The water came up in February too so any fish stuck in the holes down from the dam likely continued on up the river until the hit the dam.

This is the biggest reason that paddlefish are stocked in the rivers and lakes. The MDC is obligated to do what they can to keep an extant population going especially since man made structures like dams are impeding the natural reproduction in MO and many other states along the Mississippi, Missouri, Arkansas, Ohio, rivers. Now why they have not implemented a snagging permit to generate funds to support the stocking efforts is a mystery to me. Where did you hear that? This is the first time I've ever heard anything about crossing the two. This must have happened a long time ago becuase the chinese paddlefish was declared functionally extinct in 93 and complete extinction was estimated to have occurred between 2005 and 2010. The only thing that comes up on Google about paddlefish cross breeding is a paddlefish/sturgeon hybrid. BilletHead 1

I brought up without exacts that there aren't any Chinese paddlefish anymore and this is the last species in the world. That is a weird fish in your photo. grizwilson 1

T Back in the '50's they crossed American paddlefish with Chinese paddlefish in order to shorten the age in which they could reproduce, and those genetically altered paddlefish are what we have now. True unaltered American paddlefish are only known to be in a few waters elsewhere. One place is up north and I don't remember where the others are....or were....This was back around 1999-2000
