Quillback Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Little Sugar creek runs close to HWY 71 near the MO/AR border, yesterday driving along, I saw a guy on a big gravel bar leaning on a shovel. Had to be digging for stuff, looked like a shot in the dark to me, lot of work for little reward, but maybe he was on to something.
Quillback Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Here's something I found a couple of days ago. At first I thought it was a leaf imprint, but must be some kind of sea life. Pretty eroded so hard to tell. tho1mas, Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 4

Sure that wasn't the guy that lives under the state line bridge burying his... stuff? BilletHead 1 I can't dance like I used to.
Johnsfolly Posted March 29, 2022 Author Posted March 29, 2022 I'm far better at finding fossils. A couple of brachiopod shells from PA and petrified wood (left) from Hinkson creek in Columbia. Quillback 1
tjm Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 are brachiopods the one ones that are fan shaped like the Shell Oil emblem?

tjm Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Kids have picked up bushels of those, and more are everywhere in the dry ditch.
BilletHead Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 I have a real deal for someone, I have a box of fish fossils. These are some that Pat and I quarried in Wyoming not far from Fossil Butte National park. In the box also are leaf and insect fossils we found in a shale bed in Utah. This is just a sample. I would gladly gift the box to someone or a science class at a school maybe. Check this one out. It's tiny but it is a caddis. When viewed with a magnifier you can see the body and wings. Act now and these can be yours today! Pat is tired of this box of treasures.😁@Nick Adams are you a teacher?" Any ideas of who might like these?
