BilletHead Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Pat went out after she got home from work yesterday next to the house and found a half dozen. After the rain quit this afternoon, I went to another place and found 45. Possible frost tonight and they freeze so easy I wanted to get them before that might have happened. I will take her back and see if I missed any, then another place maybe. jdmidwest Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Made a run on one of my spots, only 2 soggy little yellers. Full of mites. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
budman Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Looks like you had a good day. Fried up a batch the other afternoon and the wife and I sat on the back porch and enjoyed them with a Bourbon Barrel Quad. Went out for an hour this afternoon and found 23. Only found 5 together in one spot and all the rest were singles. I think they are finally start to pop here. BilletHead, Johnsfolly and Daryk Campbell Sr 3

Maverickpro201 Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 I was out yesterday and found 15 morels, they will be gone this morning after breakfast. So I will be back out today. Hope I find another mess today. Also getting ready Saturday to put out Morel spores that I just received in the mail 2 days ago. I hope they do well for next year hatch. Maverickpro201 Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Any tips for putting Out The Morel Spores? Package says to soak over night in 5 gallon buckets and then go out and spread them. Should I rake the leaves up in the area I am going to spread them or just throw out over the leaves? Any expert advise would certainly be appreciated.
BilletHead Posted April 15, 2022 Author Posted April 15, 2022 No expert here but I would spread on raked dirt under leaves and then cover up with retaining leaf matter. Maverickpro201 Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Sounds Like A Plan. That is kind a what I was thinking.

I have never tried but do toss any water and trimmings into one spot. Nothing so far but it may not be the right spot. Good luck and keep us informed. I like you have seen many videos on seeding morel slurries and other various deals. Got my fingers crossed for ya.
