No kidding. Just the legal battles will be enough, but the emotional part would be devastating.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the term MVA change to MVC because theres always someone at fault?

From what i heard from the inside is, he was idling up towards the swimmers when he tripped/stumbled and just happened to grab the throttle on accident causing full power and couldn’t stop it until it hit the bluff. They did test him on scene, which is customary.  Just happened that his daughter was swimming right in front of it.

No kill switch attached.

With smimmers all around, why was the motor even running?  And if you're sitting/standing at the helm then how do you trip and fall.

Doesn't sound like an accident...... Sounds like a code #14 (operator error).

I’m telling you that area is a zoo with people in the water, on the bluff, driving boats in and out let off and pick them up.   Most in the water are kids.  It’s crazy!!!   My kids like to jump but I hate going there.   After pointing out the potential hazards they are getting less enthusiastic about it.

I had to take a defensive driving class to get a military drivers license.  Even though that was 45 years ago, I still remember some of the main points.  One of those is that there are no accidents, but there are crashes.

This is so sad.
