Fishermen have brought this insanity upon themselves.   Smart Companies are watching, and when they see the amount of money being spent they are thinking "Wow, these fishing guys have lots of expendable money. We need to raise our prices and come up with more stuff to sell them". 

Now it has trickled down to the used second hand market.   

You know darn well that he paid less than 2.5k for that rig back in the '80's.  And the trailer is gonna need tires, wheel bearings, bunks, and a light kit.

It's worth $801.54 if he has both titles.
