I was reading a article the other day and cannot seem to find it again. So my question is. Does Missouri dept of conservation have a rule/law on throwing back dead fish into the lake after caught and put into a livewell. And if so where may I find it? The article had stated that some states and I believe it said Missouri had one.

Thanks Folks.

If we do, it would probably be covered by wanton waste.

Bingo!   Have seen it happen soooooo many times. Here is one example. Folks fishing off the Caplinger mills bridge, bank fisherman too. Note not everyone is like this but here goes. A person or persons goes fishing thinking they will catch a mess. Get some water in a five-gallon bucket. Fish and pitch them in the now hot water oxygen deplete water. Instantly the fish go belly up and gills go white. Dang it's not such a good day and I don't want to clean three fish. End of trip bucket gets dumped over the rail or back into water.

Yes that is an example but I’m not sure if it is covered.  Mostly I have heard of it when deer and turkey are being discussed.  An MDC enforcement officer might be able to shed some light on this.

Oh I am betting it is and I do wish we had someone would cover this. The things I have witnessed on deer especially.  I know there is gray areas. Deer shanks are tough and I would say there are given a free pass, but I have cooked deer shanks osso buco and they are good. Effort is put into the dish you are rewarded. A good grinder can make easy work of that cut also for burger but not everyone of us has that option.

States vary also. In Montana that have some of the strictest game laws you are required to keep pheasant, duck and goose legs. I keep very few here but @curtiscedoes a bunch and good job at that. I have not though saved duck tongue, but he has!

Speaking of the wobbly bits I have a can of foie gras he brought us home from France. Got to try it.

We have all done that at one time or another. As I matured and began to care about resources a change came over me.  I look at things differently now.

No, I have not but have heard they do enforce. We have problems with illegal activity around here. It has got better but still ongoing. Whole deer minus the head pitched over bridge rails. I put two and two together and know of one person that did it. No proof but know where the mounted head is. Neighbors dumping burn cans in the creek with plastic and everything that will not burn. Each day a large sonic cup pitched out the window in the road from another neighbor on way home. I finally said to the husband hey be on the lookout for the person doing this. We should get that stopped maybe call the law.  Funny it stopped when he shared that with someone in that household.
