netboy Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Fishing has been good over on the Norfork. Weather has been very nice with highs in the 80's and some rain. I fished Norfork this morning under light rain and caught a couple dozen. Finally, it got too cold with the rain, and I quit an hour before the water was scheduled to come up. My fingers weren't working very well. Cracklebacks were working great, but after a break off, I had trouble re-rigging. Ham Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Glad that you are getting out, I sure do wish the state could get McCllenans access up and going as a walk-in access only Are you catching very many cutts? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

A walk in at McClelland's would be great. I have hiked up there from Ackerman, but it is quite a workout. It was all rainbows yesterday, but I usually manage to get a cutthroat or two along with the occasional brown. Ham 1
grizwilson Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 We fished Ackerman yesterday 9/14/22, for me started slow, picked up a few drifting a scud w/o indicator, guy down stream was hammering them on something. Ladybear was up stream, doing well, we had a double going and she yelled bring the net.....apparently "its in the truck" was not the answer she was looking for.... Great day, as most of you know I am not a clicker or picture guy but did get a couple. She was drifting a olive woolybuger that I later smartened up and switched to, sure she had more than you could count on fingers and toes. mic Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Griz... Excuse my ignorance, but do you drift the woolies on under an indicator or tight line slowly to you while it drifts?

She was casting across riffle, keeping line taunt, let it swing until tight below then slowly short strip in, often with pause, repeat. rarely use indicators, but am addicted to double rigs, hopper midge. Hope this helps. mic 1 “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
