laker67 Posted September 26, 2022 Author Posted September 26, 2022 @grizwilson Thanks for taking the time to read his story. As Laker67 indicated, after he reached a certain number of lunkers, he left goals behind. But he still kept very accurate records He loved to fish, but I think he started to like visiting fellow fisherman and watching me fish more. It didn't make his book but one of my last Taney memories of him was trying to get his attention while he was up at the top of #1 outlet gabbing with Marriott and a few other guys, and maybe a park ranger. I didn't carry a net. So I'm in the creek, my brother has a nice rainbow on, and Rick can't hear me yelling for the net. I started running out of the creek to get it. Well, we all know how that ended up Thankfully nothing hurt but my ego. Harv, nomolites, trythisonemv and 3 others 2 4
fshndoug Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 The last couple of years Rick would make the trip down to the creek just to visit with me . He would watch me fish, then we would sit and visit. Those were always special moments. I will cherish them always. He was a great friend. Foghorn, Daryk Campbell Sr, laker67 and 2 others 5

laker67 Posted September 26, 2022 Author Posted September 26, 2022 @grizwilsonLoved it!! Rick had packing for trips down to a science. Never needed to worry about the net not being on him. My first solo trip was a disaster. Cooler of water? Nope, forgot about that. I get to the creek and wonder why I'm having trouble seeing fish. Of course. I started driving with glasses instead of contacts. But I can't wear those glasses under sunglasses. Screwed. Hope one day I'll get everything right. Today will be the test. I'm packed up, so we'll see. nomolites, Harv, Foghorn and 4 others 7

Andrews boss called him this morning and told him they were starting a new project tomorrow so he won't need them now. I have a back pack full of stuff 😆 laker67 1
motroutbum Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 I am honored to be included in the book. Thank you Sandy! I wish Rick and I could have fished together one last time. laker67 Posted September 28, 2022 Author Posted September 28, 2022 @motroutbum Numerous times I tried to get him to go out with you, especially NZ. Two problems with that--he doesn't fly and he's very much a homebody. But he enjoyed following you! trythisonemv, BilletHead and motroutbum 3
Foghorn Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Sandy, you'll have to do like Susie-she has 3-4 pairs of sunglasses in both cars. We headed out one time and got 2 blocks only to turn around as she didn't have a certain pair in the Explorer. She did have 3 other pair in it. Hope you're putting on a show at Taney.
