Flysmallie Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 You know I could tell you exactly where we were, but trust me, you don't want to go there. When I talked to @Chief Grey Bear about the location, I told him I really didn't care where we went. But since my knee is all f'd up I didn't want to go four wheel drive floating. Britt knows what that means and assured me that it wouldn't be an issue. He lied. Hawg, Greasy B, nomolites and 8 others 7 4
jdmidwest Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 What happened on that little log? trythisonemv and ColdWaterFshr 2 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
fishinwrench Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Eew! I don't like the looks of that last pic! 😳 Glad it was shallow enough to get your hand on the bottom. trythisonemv 1

We were weaving in and out through this jungle float Britt chose and at that small log there was really no where else to go. I might have been able to squeeze through in front of it but I doubt it. I could have set up against that log all day. It's when I decided to step out that everything went wrong. It was much deeper that I thought and I rolled it just a little too far. I got tossed but landed perfectly and was never in any real danger. Freaked out a bit because I have a lot of camera gear up under there but we were able to retrieve all of it. The only thing I lost was a strap and a few drinks. Bass Yakker, nomolites, Terrierman and 1 other 4
Terrierman Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 I know exactly where you were. There can be a log jam or two in the area. 18 minutes ago, Flysmallie said: Stupidity, just stupidity. Not an obstruction anywhere, just fast current in one direction, big wind in the other direction and I got sideways to both. Lost a brand new St Croix rod and Pfleuger President reel in that little incident. It was cool enough I was glad to have dry clothes with me. Glad you didn't lose anything valuable. ollie Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Did you like the float. Buzz and I went upstream from there a couple years back and I wasn't that impressed with that section. At least that was me. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
