Many of these pics were taken in SW NC in the Great Smokies National Park.

Neat to see those leaves turn.  I was out on Beaver today, there aren't many maples, but the ones that are there are pretty colorful this year.

See we was a bit early.

We went from Virginia down to Louisiana. It was a fast trip only 9 days.

Took a ride on the Great Smoky Railroad.

But seems you hit it right.

I went to Slater, Missouri and seemed the leaves were ahead of us on color.

Hickories and Maples are really turning on color wise right now.

Had to laugh at my Mother in Law. She was giving me heck about cutting Hickory Trees by the house.

I pointed to a hill of theirs.  Said look at all them Yellow Trees.  They are all Hickory.

Kind of like they only had one Bee Tree. Couple times I was putting up Honey. Run down there Tree was still there.

Seems we always are little early on Leaves.  Last year even went to Tom Saulk Mountain and Leaves were holding off turning.

The entire state of Tennessee was pretty.  There were literally hundreds of miles of good fall color.  I would highly recommend this place to anyone for a fall trip, though there were lots of festivals going on thus many people.  Rooms neat Gatlinburg were going for $400 per night plus taxes.  We stayed in Newport and even there the hotels were sold out.

Agree, that area in the fall is awesome…but, lots of folks think so.  Amazing the traffic on little country two lanes so plan on it.
