Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 11, 2023 Root Admin Posted January 11, 2023 I try to force feed fish when I go to other waters, including Florida's backwater. Most times they work but not all the time. ALOT of people are putting marabou jigs out there, even in this area. PJ's, Zig Jig, D2 Jigs to name a few. Our nitch was to guarantee the quality and try to keep them tied right by local tyers. We've honestly been too busy to expand the product but we should. We're making a micro jig which mimics the Turner but that hasn't really taken off although I think we got it real close to the original. I think we will make heavier jigs, as well as breaking into or colorful, brighter colors in the coming months. I think brighter colors will do better on crappies. We're open to ideas..... Seth, nomolites, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4

That flaired collar design of your head is my favorite thing about your jigheads. Everything has to cinch down towards the head and I've yet to have one slip regardless of whether I tied it myself or I bought it pretied. They all catch fish, but yours don't slip. Having to retie because a jig started to unravel or the marabou slipped down the hook drives me crazy!

ollie Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Aw heck guys, just skip those jigs, they don't catch anything anyways. 😉 nomolites and Phil Lilley 1 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 12, 2023 Root Admin Posted January 12, 2023 If I could ask a question on his video, which I can't because the comments are turned off, I'd ask if he's putting floatant on his butt section because he said he's letting the jig sink till the "sighter" section is vertical. But your butt section will sink to unless it floats, and 15 lb mono doesn't float. When is a jig a streamer? A "streamer" is a jig when it has a lead head. A jig is a streamer when the material is left long? Interesting.
fshndoug Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Phil after watching the video of him fishing the creek all he is doing basically high sticking the jig down through the creek. He is lifting his rod when the bottom becomes shallower and dropping the rod in the deeper sections. He is jigging his rod at times to impart action. I would say that he is not putting any floatant on the butt section so he can drop his rod and get more depth when needed. He is using a sighter section with different color line only as a reference for depth.
fshndoug Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 After watching some more Daniels videos he floats the sighter when fishing nymphs in shallow water
