If the holy one didn't want my lip to rot off then he'd have prevented it in the first place. Don't go jacking up his plan. If ever there was a foul-mouthed heathen that deserved it more......I can't imagine who it would be. 😅 What fun would it be if God only worked on saving "nice" people.

fishinwrench Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 For non-melanoma skin cancers there is some stuff called Curaderm BEC5 that has pretty impressive, and lasting, results. The medical community in the U.S. hasn't approved it (possibly because it would put alot of places out of business) but it's used in Australia and in the UK with a 82% success rate. Kinda pricey, but I plan to at least give it a try. Sounds way WAY better than the process the dermatologist is recommending for me.
MOPanfisher Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 After my bone marrow transplant the Dr's. Told me.in no uncertain terms that sunlight us no longer your friend. Something about the chemo changes your ability to resist damage from sunlight. I tried to be good I really did. But to e pect me to avoid sun would be like telling FW to become a biologist. Neither is likely so there is a price to be paid. Unlikely that it will be a melanoma that does me in, but it is certainly a possibility. Or possibly as my wife alluded to I might just be a human cockroach that will out live her. I will bring beer and brats to discuss spiritual matters, cause I am not very good at it.

Sunlight on my skin feels GREAT. And 10 years from now they'll likely discover that sunscreen causes cancer in your pores, or something........So what do ya do?

Surgery not an option because it was there too long? Yeah I expected it to be squamous, but basal cell was what it turned out to be.....which I was initially happy to hear. She gave me the big speech about how I should always come in ASAP whenever I notice something, but I explained to her that it all started with a fight with a bungee hook.....and that my whiskers, and me picking at it, really slowed the healing. So I really didn't start to think that anything was totally abnormal for a long time. Honestly I feel like their big goal is to make me 100% beautiful and handsome again, regardless of my inner future health. Piss on THAT ! I just want the cancer gone, and for it to heal over once and for all. I don't care one bit if I'm a little disfigured from here on out. I mean let's face it.....my modeling days have been over for a long time anyways. 😅 I'm not gonna poison my entire body over a 1" piece of lip skin. And that's all there is to that ! Nothing about that plan seems wise to me at all. Besides.....that Erivedge crap is like 250.00 per pill !!!! 😲 The only reason to charge that much for a pharmaceutical chemical is to cover the legal fees for prescribing it after it kills someone. Let's get real here. "Don't you dare smoke cigarettes, snort cocaine, or drink whiskey...... but here TAKE THIS!". SHIIIIIIIITT !!!!! 🙄

JestersHK Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 I had em cut a spot off my nose a few years ago. I was just with my wife at her dermatologist appointment and the doc was like let me look at that nose. My pops has had nose and hands cut on multiple times. Being outdoors can be a hazard but beats hiding in the basement. Was a wake up call for me to practice better skin care in the sun, and gave me more excuses to keep fishing at night... Good luck to all my OAF friends dealing with this crud. It's less than pleasant, good thing for me you can't fix ugly and scars are cool right? fishinwrench, BilletHead, kjackson and 2 others 5
