Well, I posted this morning on the same crapper I was sitting on when I felt the sore lump in my neck.  My second grandson was being born in the hospital and I was heading out to greet him soon after.  I kept it quiet all weekend till he was home and safe.

I broke the news to my wife first on Sunday nite when she came back from her daughters house and new baby.  I broke the news to my doctor the next morning and was up in his office later that week.  He was amazed that I found it, he missed it a few weeks earlier.  And I had to pinpoint it to him after his first feeling around at the office that day.  I will never forget the look on his lead nurse's face when the ultrasound hit it, I knew it was round 2 and not good.  We went after it like gangbusters and killed it off. 

Now, 6 years later, I am almost normal.  As normal as I will ever be, or ever was.  And have 3 more of them grandbabies.

I wish that I felt that I could trust the medical community like some of y'all do.   

One of the things that worries me is the breakdown of their pay rates.   I had parents, and parents of friends, growing up, that were in the medical and pharmacological profession. And I know the REAL reason that doctors and hospitals charge the ridiculous rates that they do.  And I also know why certain meds and procedures are recommended.......and it isn't always because that's the best choice for you..... it's because that's the ALLOWABLE choice, with the fewest odds of malpractice liability.  (you can't be effectively sued if you follow certain guidelines).     

In other words...... Business as usual in America.

In my recent studies on the recommendation of Erivedge (which is what they are recommending for me) it became evident that if a dermatologist prescribes enough Erivedge......they get a paid vacation for 3 to the Caribbean.     Yep!  👏  So there's the incentive that has nothing whatsoever to do with my (or anyone's) future health. 🙄

And to add to this, if you visit 3 different doctors you will get 3 different opinions and ways to cure it and meds to take and how long to take them. Just like boat mechanics.
