Members OFDchief Posted April 6, 2023 Members Posted April 6, 2023 Guys I've been creeping here for a few months preparing for this week. I met an old army buddy up here that I haven't seen in 26 years. He's from KY I'm from TX. We have been catching on wind blown points on the James and White. Our go to has been a green spro rc but struggle with other techniques. Can anyone suggest other options/ locations we could check out? Today was slow but still managed to boat 8 lm/spots! magicwormman, Quillback, snagged in outlet 3 and 7 others 10
Bill Babler Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Welcome to the forum, nice fish. Check out Pete Wenners current video report he posted yesterday. Exactly what he said was already tied on in my rod locker, with the exception of the RK color selection for the dirty water. I just have not done well on RED. Staging fish are off the long gravel points if you like that type of fishing using FFS. and the little 2.8 or 3.3 inch swimbait or you can chunk and wind the off color stuff. Let us know more about you and how you like to fish and how you’re doing. Lake section is very important here for good intel. Members OFDchief Posted April 6, 2023 Author Members Posted April 6, 2023 Pete’s videos have played a big part for me up here. I can’t get bit on red either. Hopefully I will have some kind of report this evening. Thanks for the info Mr. Babler Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Members OFDchief Posted April 6, 2023 Author Members Posted April 6, 2023 Put in at Cape Fare today and did Fair…. Bout 10 less than fabulous keepers. Saw temps up to 60.5. Most came on a green 6th sense/spro RC. 1 on b/b jig. Quillback and cheesemaster 2
Members OFDchief Posted April 8, 2023 Author Members Posted April 8, 2023 Fished the south end today. To say it sucked is an understatement…. The fish didn’t cooperate until 3ish and that is when the suspending rouge shined on wind blown, pea gravel, windy points. Still sucked but at least I caught 4 and didn’t get skunked. We are heading back home in the morning and hope to come back next spring but I think we are going to push it back a week. Good luck and tight lines guys…. It does take a long time for the old puddle to warm up, and stay that way. Champ188 and magicwormman 2

Members OFDchief Posted April 9 Author Members Posted April 9 We are heading up Sunday and will be there for the week. Can anyone give me any idea how the forecasted rain is going to affect the lake? Will it come up much? It was 915 last year when i was up there last year. I'm sure the 80 degree temps next week will help get them going.

Caught the majority of our fish in 65 degree water on windblown bluff banks... Heading to bull shoals tomorrow. snagged in outlet 3 and Quillback 2
Members OFDchief Posted April 19 Author Members Posted April 19 Caught 20 or so today. Had a 5-6lber get off right at the boat. Beds everywhere, most single males but did see some pairs. Only caught 1 bed fishing. A black trick worm helped us end the day strong.... Heading back to BS tomorrow! magicwormman, snagged in outlet 3 and Quillback 3
