Started on progress

Yesterday after work we got the chicken pen moved. Lifted the front edge up and used 4” PVC under to pull it with the tractor to its new spot. Hooked the new to me 5’ tiller on the tractor and made a few passes. I went from the 30x30 garden to a 30x60 this year. Last year the viney plants took over. The pumpkin vine alone was 68’ from end to end. I may till up a separate area just for the melons and pumpkins. Will till the rest after work today. 
 

That green in the middle are strawberries  They were on the end last season, so guess they will be in the middle now.

I plan on tilling mine this week-end, with a regular roto-tiller. 20' x 20', have a fence around mine because I do not like sharing with all the critters. Got my 2 raised done on Tuesday.

I have 20X20 with fence for same reason. 

Got half of it planted with early stuff.

Put my Potatoes in big bags. Starting some Strawberries.  Got Tomato Plants and Peppers I'm going to put out first of May. 

Drought did a number on stuff take some time get it all straightened out.

Nice area. That is our chore next weekend is to fence and gate it off to keep the chickens out. Didnt have an issue last year with other critters, but these chickens will eat the entire garden in a day.

Yelp they head right for the Garden.  My wife lost all her Cabbage one time.

I used 4' x 16' Goat panel from Tractor Supply, very rigid. Not Cheap, but will out last me.

Got the posts set this evening. Will run wire and build the gate after tournament tomorrow.

Still need to stain the gate and posts to match the house, and cut wire and it should be done

@Ketchup  Nice looking garden.  I'm glad you put the gate on it.  Maybe some of the deer will die laughing before they get a chance to have a buffet   But seriously, nice job.
