I think I can pull an 80# test Bow, but why?  Ghost and Force pull up about as easily as a Ulterra loads its self. 

I’ve yet to see a fountain of water coming out of the head of either.  Can’t say the same for the Ultrex. 

Ultrex would be great with the weather we have coming up. You could fish and stay cool with the relaxing shower the head provides.

I loved the commercial for the Ulterra when it first came out whereby the guy launches his boat with nobody in it, deploys the troller, hits spot lock, parks the trailer, and directs the boat to the courtesy dock and gets in.  I wonder if people actually did that trusting that it would always work.  Maybe if there was another boater around just in case things did not work.

I’ve done that a couple of times.  It’s a little spooky when it is sliding into the water while you’re still in the truck.  I can’t do it now since installing a Shuttle Slide.

i saw a guy do that this spring and it deployed half way. So I gave him a ride to his boat.   My Force is getting more difficult to pull up and my cable is starting to fray. I call Garmin yesterday and before i hung the phone up with them i had a notification on my phone that a package was being shipped. They are sending me a new handle/cable, new spring assist and a bushing kit all for the low cost of 0 dollars.  They really make things easy

It is important to keep an eye on that cable because if it breaks while the motor is deployed it is tough and maybe impossible to get it back up while on the water - mine broken at the handle so I could still pull the cable to get it up.  If it breaks at the other end or in the middle, the two sets of releases are not exposed.  Garmin told me that you could get a screwdriver behind the releases - not true.  I think that if you can get the side plate off then at least one side of the releases might be exposed.  I inspect the cable often and carry a torx driver to match the fasteners on the side plates.  The harder the pull, the more strain on the cable.

Are you still in warranty? - thus the free parts.

My buddy has had his break twice and hes the one that noticed mine starting to fray. He said he could get his up and down, just a pain to do it all day.  I guess im still under warranty, i got mine back in 21

I saw a guy on Taney with a Big Lund with Michigan plates back down the Cooper Creek ramp, slide the boat into the current and then pulled  back up the ramp.  Walked back down and with 4 units running his boat had drifted 20 yards past the fishing dock 

With a huge grin on his face he hit the deploy and nodded at the lady with him. Nada.  Started walking briskly down the concrete headed for the fishing dock all the time pounding the deploy button. It finally deployed but with the 4 units just kept heading toward Branson. I gave him a ride down to it.  He said it had always worked before. 

Wrong place wrong time for a show off move like that.
