 Nah, got sidescan for that. Humminbird might once have had the market cornered on that ancient feature, but Lowrance made it better. Still a dang good way to find crappie piles (and crappie). Sometimes one even finds a bass or two.
And speaking of docks and bass, what happened to catching them off the front corners of docks on a topwater, spinnerbait, swim jig, crank bait or anything else for that matter? I did not catch a single front-corner dock bass in 2023 that I can recall. Hard to believe it's just coincidence ... I may not fish 100 days a year or more like I used to, but I fish enough and throw at both front corners of dang near every dock I come to. Used to be a darn good way to catch Ol' Big.

I kind of forgot about that front quarter and corner of dock deal. 

Still works good on Grand and Lake O.  

I like most everyone have been  concentrating more on the back corners, stalls, shady sides and ramp. 

I will say I did catch one of my biggest bags off docks this year on a bait that will remain nameless. 

Of course my biggest fish of the year did come off a front corner on a swimbait.  2.5”  Keitech, with 4lb. Maxi. Fish was 7.15, but they were chasing out front, and I don’t know if that counts. 

My goal for 2024 is to catch 25 fish over 5 pounds, and 5 over 7 pounds. That’s pretty lofty for me but I think I’m newly educated and armed to do it. 

Had some great days last Spring and I’m going to work at it this year.

Have to admit to not fishing docks much lately.  I know a TR regular that scans under docks with FFS and he says they are under them, but so far back you can't get to them unless you get out and walk the dock or are really good at getting something in there between a boat and the walkway.

We need to stop the dock fishing talk. There are no fish around docks. They all live out in the middle somewhere.

Toby, you and your dock fishing buds need to haul those bass out from under those docks and transport them to designated release sites.   I'll send you the coordinates of those sites.
