I could have gotten up and I would still be standing there telling Buster Loving stories.

And those of us who stayed to hear them would still be laughing.

Nother quick Buster story. I believe it was in 94-95. I had one  of my first Taneycomo guide trips it was either out of Scotty’s Trout Dock or out of Branson Trout Dock. May have even been out of Main Street Marina and I think it probably was. I can’t remember which.

Another guide old Charlie asked me if I knew Buster or Tim Sainato. I said I knew of them. He said they’re outside go introduce yourself.

They were sitting in a boat and I walked over and told them my name and that I was going to start guiding Taney.

Buster looked over at Tim and said, “another darn fishing guide.” Buster was kind of a profit as he looked me up and down and said.,   “ Probably won’t be worth a darn anyway.” Again first time I ever saw the guy.  Think I miss spelled darn  closer to Dam

Saniato cracked up and said “he hates every body welcome to the club.”  They both stood up and shook my hand.

That started almost a 29 year friendship with Buster.  Tim and I are good friends.  Never as close  however to the relationship I had with Buster.

I had this little guy swim up to my boat a couple years ago.   I swear he had a look on his face that said “ hey, help a brother out”.   It was early spring and pretty cold.  I put him in my jacket to warm up then took him to shore and he ran off.

Heard of a guy here in Bella Vista that live trapped them around his house and released them somewhere up in MO.  He'd trap one and a few days later another would show up.  He started painting their backs with orange spray paint as he was convinced they were migrating back to his house from where he released them miles away.  Needless to say, none of the orange ones ever came back.

I wish we had some around the house.   There’s a few about a mile from the house down in the river bottom.  But I’ve never seen one around here.

There's always one around my house, could be more I guess, but I only see one at a time.  Someone told me a chipmunk ate all the insulation off the wiring in their car, so since hearing that, I don't trust them.

We have a couple of feral cats that we feed and house on our back deck so we don't have many chipmunks around. We did a TNR (trap, neuter, release) and they never left when we brought them home. Figured they might haul tail and never return after all that but they were smart enough not to abandon their food and shelter.

They have gotten pretty docile around us and keep trying to come inside, so we will probably "merge" them with our four indoor cats very soon. Especially with the weather that is forecasted for next week.
