Fat but fit is how my DR described me.  Even so, I need to lose some weight.

Yeah checkups are free with insurance.  Blood tests too.  And with the wonders of the internet, you can analyze the numbers yourself, if you don't trust the DR's.

Consider yourself lucky.    Doctors rotate through the systems in my area of reasonable travel, to the point that it's nearly impossible to see the same one twice.     

If there was one that I trusted and thought highly enough of, then I'd not be so leary about it.   And it isn't just ME, I hear the same from LOTS of people.  

 

Just out of curiosity:   How many appointments did you have to make, and how many miles did you have to put on your vehicle before you found THE ONE ?     You say that "You took the time"......How much time did that take?

                I totally understand that statement but it's like this. 

    Everyone hears bad things and scream to high heaven, and it spreads like wildfire.  There are so many stories that go unnoticed because that screaming does not go on with success stories. It was not too many years ago that people died of all kinds of cancer. They did so silently because it just happened and it was a way of life. If caught early because of good doctors being on top of things and the strides in science those in the past could have a longer life. Way back when mothers and babies died from the birthing process. Go to an old, old cemetery. Look at the ages when people died. It's on the headstones. Then compare to newer birth and death dates. As much as it would be neat to live in the past, I would want to do it now in a time machine only temporary. Would it not be cool to see a saber tooth tiger only to have it eat you for dinner? 😁 Life expediency was not very high.

Statistically......I dunno 🤔 

For every one of those early deaths from Diarrhea/Child birth, or something similar, there are hundreds of old Whiskey drinking, Collard green eating, Pall Mall smoking, codgers with no teeth & 2" of hair hanging out of their nose.... that lived well into their 80's-90's and only visited a doctor if they got their arm, leg, or pecker caught in a combine.  

I know this because my parents were in the nursing home business. And they seldom, if ever, had a vacant room.   

What's the average life expectancy here in 2024 by all these folks casting shadows in the doctors office waiting room on a weekly basis ?

Everyone acts all concerned about their Heart, Lungs, Pancreas, Skin, ect.... but what REALLY MATTERS is their Brain. 

Once you're nuttier than a squirrel turd your life is basically over !      Sad, but True.

                You don't want to know what I have to say about that because you will think I am picking directly on you. 

          I personally know of one aunt from my moms sides family that all are dying young because of the way they treat themselves. Only one has made it to over 70. All but one had a good mind at their age of death.

                         Bingo you have that pegged to a tee. Again you have to take care of yourself to get to that point. When and if I make it to that point, I am ready to go. You know what they say you come into this world kicking and screaming. If you live long enough that is the way you go out.
