Quillback Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Out early, beautiful sunrise. The fishing overall, is tough. Not many bites. Best deal for me was fishing a c-rig, it got me a couple of nice keepers. Caught a few spots out at 30 feet, but the rest were in 10-15 FOW. 8 bass total. Fished the banks on the main channel, didn't go back into any coves. Got checked by the warden. No short walleye in the live wells so they let me live to fish another day. 😃 WT 81. bobby b., Johnsfolly, snagged in outlet 3 and 7 others 10
snagged in outlet 3 Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Nice! What was on the C rig? Remember the ole French Fry C rigged? Used to be deadly. Quillback and Terrierman 2
Quillback Posted August 23 Author Posted August 23 I just about always use a Zoom Speed Craw. Green pumpkin/purple or Dirt. I have some Fries laying around somewhere, I bet they would still work, not too many people throw the c-rig anymore, fish don't see it that often. snagged in outlet 3 and Johnsfolly 2

Champ188 Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Always great to run into a warden out on the water. And invariably, the Missouri wardens have been extremely professional but equally friendly. Donna and I got checked out in front of Big M one day and I had a Walter in the livewell. It measured beyond legal ... even in the low 20s ... but the older of the two wardens was training the younger one, so he wanted him to measure it. I invited the guy onto my boat so he could get the fish out of the livewell himself rather than me trying to hand it off in the wake boat waves, etc. Guy climbs in, fishes it out of the livewell and just as he stood up with it, the thing twisted real hard in his hands, escaped and hit the back deck flopping and went right over the side back into the water. I think that older warden may still be laughing. The younger one had this incredulous look on his face and was the only person between the four of us not laughing ... YET! We ended up giving both of them a bottle of ice-cold Gatorade and visited a few minutes, then went our respective ways. I ran into the young guy a couple years later at the Eagle Rock ramp and we had a good laugh about him throwing my walleye back. LOL Quillback, cheesemaster, MarkG52 and 2 others 2 3
