Terrierman Posted September 10 Posted September 10 I think I need to invent an ID protection program protector.

Is it worse to have a $5K cruise charged to your card that you can reverse with a phone call, or autodraft $49.95/mo for "protection" that requires the same response on your part in case of an event? After ~25 years of paying Norton and the like, I've decided that I'd have been better off without it. I've had ID fraud attempts. They're like home invasions in that you feel violated, and your window of trust narrows proportionately. While I smacked 'em down, they get enough successes to make it pay, so it continues. I'm hoping someone that matters will notice that SS numbers can no longer be the de facto priority ID. At least 60% of everyone online and 40% of those not, already have a complete digital "you" available for pennies. It gives me some satisfaction knowing the whales have more to worry about than I do. I I can't dance like I used to.

I I'm not a very good target. No debts, assets protected by a trust, credit cards only (or cash) and one bank where I know the staff. The ID theft protection program I have is a freebie from a site that had my data and got hacked. That'll make you wonder. I'm more of the "What, me worry?" crowd.

Do you pay any bills online or have auto pay on anything? Do you order anything online? Do you check your email? All good ways for them to horn in on your action. I always seem to order stuff from reputable vendors online or Ebay, pay with Paypal and have that extra buffer zone. But I needed a locking Mailbox to keep the mail thiefs at bay, and I did a search and chose one that seemed legit. Now, 5 months later, I just received my complete credit notice on my bank card from the Wang Chung scam that popped up in my Duck Duck Go search. Dam Chinards. Very simple I got word someone hung themselves. Ok that's simple. Next find out it's the same guy my son took to court because he molested my Granddaughter. Ok seems simple enough. His Girlfriend cut him down before he died. Sounds simple seems he was lucky. Seen him driving down the road. Well obviously not dead. Simple he couldn't drive if he was dead. HOA said if they lose in court we will lose our HOA. Simple to understand and not your problem so it don't matter if you can't understand. oneshot Daryk Campbell Sr and Flysmallie 1 1
