I know I got my butt spanked many times. I deserved it too. Sometimes I had a few whelps but was not hurt physically. No child should be physically hurt. No one wants to be placed in child protection unless there's a REAL problem. Call his bluff. bingo. the poor kid is being raised with no boundaries and is crying out for them. ness
The law has shifted towards protecting the kids, which I can't find fault with. You whoop a kid in the wrong jurisdiction, and have someone who's out to prove you wrong, you can spend some time in jail -- like my cousin-in-law did. Best to figure another way. oneshot 1
Had a Grandson giving a hard time. Told keep it up and I'll bust your butt. He kept it up so I swatted his butt. Couldn't ask for a better kid for days until his folks showed. Pulled a woman out one time her son was throwing rocks at her. She told him he wouldn't get a treat if he didn't quit. Caught him alone. Boy you treat your mom like this again I'm going to tear you up. Heck I went to High School with belt welps on my face. One time my face was blue and yellow from a beating. oneshot

fishinwrench
When I was 15 I threw a house party while my parents were gone overnight, had a couple girls stay over and we trashed the house. I got everything cleaned up before they got home, but one of the girls parents found out....and I got busted. Dad and I were headed to the girls house (so that I could "APOLOGIZE") and he was reading me the riot act. He said, "Until you're big enough to whoop me you will live by my rules". Well like an idiot I popped off and said "Fine, pull over and let's do it!". Biggest mistake of my life🙄 I jumped out of the truck, ripped my shirt off, and was just gonna show the ol'man what I was made of.......Well.....He showed me what HE e was made of ! He literally wiped up Sydenstricker Implement parking lot with my ignorant posterior. 😥 Never challenged his authority EVER AGAIN. Haven't been there since the early '70s, chasing parts for the neighbor's 706. That was in Macon. Was there another branch somewhere? I can't dance like I used to. Still there, and everytime I go past it....or even see a John Deere tractor, I remember the lesson learned there. bfishn and BilletHead
