I wanted to fish yesterday but my trailer jack shot craps so I took it to Brandon Trailer Service.  Bo fixed it right away and also repacked my hubs.  I can’t recommend him enough.  Great service!

Today I only had a few hours and got on the water at 7:30.  WT 64.   I struggled for the first hour but got it going in the back of cuts with bushes or floating wood.  Texas rigged big TRD did the damage.  I know most people flip jigs but they get hung up so much I like worms better.

I caught 10 in about an hour and a half and also lost that many.   Flipping and pitching it up shallow.  They got bigger as time went on.  Biggest was 17”s.  Had a blast.  Nobody around.

Well done Pete and thanks for the speckled kingsnake picture. We have not seen one of those in our area for a few years.

Thanks for the report, haven't seen any recently. Ill be down Monday to give it a go. With all the fishing pressure the lakes had and the tournaments coming up I was going to start in that 10-20 foot zone and see what happens. Who knows though its called fishing for a reason. Lake is on the rise again, up and down up and down. Ill holler if I find any that wanna bite.

Some youth deal with 300 boats Saturday.  It’s crazy how many tournaments they have.    Good luck!

Cops for kids Tuesday too. I would think the shad spawn has started . Did you catch anything on top?

I saw a little topwater activity but couldn’t get bit. Tried a buzzer and swimbait.   I kept them handy and threw to several but nada.
