Grand Lake (O' the Cherokees) in Oklahoma has an ongoing bass stocking program focused on introducing F1 hybrid largemouth bass (a cross between northern and Florida largemouth). The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) is leading a 10-year initiative to stock 93,000 F1 fingerlings annually. This stocking aims to improve the lake's bass genetics and potentially enhance fishing opportunities.

May be great for bigger fish, but this is an issue for us Life listing fisherman😒. I am by no means a purist but I do like to know the actual species that I am catching. Lots of hybrids are easily id'ed like tiger trout and I will put them on my list, but not these bass if I ever fish Grand lake.

I just feel like the "hybrid" thing could hold some unforseen problems, what would be wrong with promoting the native species?

Maybe it's to late for that line of thinking?
