Alright you table rock lake area experts.  I'm looking for your favorite lake area dinner joint.  Hoping to find something that is not a chain, not on the Landing, or on the strip.  Prefer Mom/Pop type places that have great food and service.  Can be off the beaten path.  What is your favorite place?  Thanks.

My experience is in the Kimberling city area, but Dana's BBQ is good, so is Pizza by the chef.  Both are in Branson west.  While you are there, you should get some cinnamon rolls and Danish's from the Old Fashioned Dough company.  Just down a ways on 13 is Ma's diner.  I assume they are still open, but they have been there forever, and are pretty good.

All of my old favorites have long since closed.  I used to eat at the Hillbilly Bowl all the time.  They had pretty good pizza.  Also we ate at The Bearded Clam and Ahoys quite a bit.  Ahoys had a really good Jamaican Jerk chicken sandwich.  Kind of an odd place to have that, but it was good.  There was also a little old BBQ that was just south of the bridge off of 13.

Dana’s bbq on 165.   Little Hacienda in Hollister.  Mr Gilbertis Hollister

Little Hacienda is awful these days. Will never go back. El Lago in Branson West is far superior.

Gilbertis, Hungry Hunter, El Lago, Downing Street Pour House, Gettin' Basted, Big D's, and Flat Creek (if you want a bit of a drive) are all about the best as far as not chains/touristy.

Bummer.  We didn’t go there the past year and we only went occasionally.  But it was good.
I had an opportunity to go to any restaurant in the area for free.   Chateau, Big Cedar’s or wherever.   I chose Dana’s.  Smoked chicken and Memphis rolls!!

I've heard good things about this place but never have eaten there myself.  While you are out there you can visit the Golden MO museum.

Depot Diner at Table Rock Lake

Depot is good. I have zero complaints but its on the farrrrr end of the lake compared to the others. If your over this way...I'd pick it over just about anything else but don't know that I'd drive over just for that.

The musuem on the other hand is top notch.
