  1. Man, I'm spending too much time on OA. I'm catching the inside jokes on the TR forum.

If you can't develope your own, buy them. It's hilarious to me the Cubs fans that hated on the Cards and are now crowing about all the talent they bought off of Stl. Enjoy it while it lasts.
  3. Did you recognize any of those fish as ones that you have caught before? I mean it seems likely that you may have caught them this past spring.
  4. You TR guys kill me. You have every bank and boat house memorized. I try to take my photos were there is good light on the fish, but I'll have to remember to make sure the background is open water/main lake.
  5. Wait....I thought it was the otters eating all the fish. Does that dog have otter in it?
  6. wow! Disappointed the 3 y/o. Tough crowd.
  7. In one of the photos you posted, it looks like there was a Deps Buzzjet Jr. Was that a blank you bought?
  8. Went all Oklahoma on em!
  9. The main reason I was going RR first was because the little bait is elaztech and the RR I was going to try have no barb on hook shank.
  10. Back in the day, guys would slather on the Avon Skin So Soft. You smelled awful, but the gnats would die in the greasy film and the mosquitoes and biting flies hated it. The coons must do ok down there, but it seems like a tough world to live in.
  11. The Spook paint jobs are very nice. It looks like those have the Charlie Campbell preferred nose tie position. I agree more with custom color top waters and jerk baits than crank baits, but I have some custom painted warts. They tend to get more try's than the std because why let me sit in the box. These days I throw a Super Spook Jr 9 times out of 10. I would throw the Full Size if fishing bigger water or more chop on the water.
  12. I agree that they are not the best swivels in the world, but thru the years ppl have caught hundreds of thousands of fish on them so they must not be so bad that I can't at least try them for a little while.
  13. I suspect wrench has Honey Locut trees in his yard
  14. DIY is kinda an Ozarks tradition
  15. Tackle Underground has a lifetime of reading on lure making and related topics.
  16. In some areas I'm sure you could, but in some areas it that same gumbo mud that LA has. Are you able to find solid gound to get off the yak from time to time and stretch your legs/ back? How bad were the mosquitoes / gnats / biting flies when the wind wasn't blowin?
  17. One of the secondary advantages of having the White River below Bull Shoals and The Norfork Tailwaters both in the Mountain Home area is the outstanding Fly Fishing Guide Talent that developes in the area. I could not possibly list them all without accidentily leave someone out, but guys like John Berry, Davey Wotten, and John Gulley can't be found just anywhere. Well, there is another local guy that many of you may not know about. Henry Seay is just outstanding. He is 80 years old and still is a very active fisherman. He is a wealth of information and can really, really help folks get a lot further along the learning curve. He's very down to earth and very helpful. He has a high skill level, but is just as helpful as he can be. I believe he still does "buddy " trips for a small fee where he wades and fishes along side the client helping them learn. I have no idea why I have not done this with him, but some time or another in the next few months I hope to fix this. Henry also works part time at Blue Ribbon Fly Shop. I'm sure he can be contacted thru the shop to arrange a trip.
  18. " I know a guy"
  19. Come back next Spring when all is right with the world. It will change your opinion that the lake is difficult to pattern. It seems like you had to work for what you got, but you had some success. Sounds like fun to me. I enjoyed Stockton the one (extended) trip I made there.
  20. If you have a trip planned, I really think spending a little money and ship the gear ahead of your arrival is better than buying more gear, but that is sort of out of character for me.
  21. I have an older BPS Extreme Travel Rod that I was pleased with. I feel like St Croix probably offers from travel rods, but I do not know that as fact. There 4 piece fly rods do fine so I feel like St Croix could make an excellent 4 piece spinning rod as well.
  22. No worries. Just a little teasing.
  23. That stuff will get BURNED into your brain. You'll never get those images out. I still hope to get down there with you. We can talk Cuda vs Coosa. Fly and lure selection etc. When I go, I am going to throw some varity of a surface fly at least part of the time.
  24. I hope everyone that is able got out and fished this week. Today and tomorrow should be amazing days to sling a blade somewhere or another. I look forward to reading the reports.
  25. It looks more like 10 thumbs up to me. Must be really good service.
