  1. At work we have Mustangs and have worn them quite a bit with zero problems or accidental inflations. Being a tight wad and not wanting to spend that much I have had my sone pick me up a BPS version , while it seems comfortable at first glance I have not had it out on the water yet. I did read a lot of reports about inflation while in compartments or while installing the CO2 cartridge. Since I have screwed the cartridge in yet I can complain. However I do know the Mustangs I have worn are great, you quickly forget you are wearing it, (we aren't fishing so that might make a difference), you also don't want it too tight on you, when it inflates you think it's gonna pinch your head off if you don't leave some room.
  2. Some day I am gonna beg/borrow/bribe my way into a trip. I have never even wet a toe on the Meremec I don't believe.
  3. Come on warm water!
  4. That is a fat rascal, and some pretty good looking shad imitating jigs sir.

    What's Cooking?

Looks great. Bring me a plate, please?
  6. Nice. Show off.
  7. Looking out today from the dam you can see that he muddy water has been pulled all he down to the dam. The upper ends may be clearing up don't know right now.
  8. I believe there has to be a couple standards met before a threat is really a threat. It has to be some that can actually be done, so if I threaten to reach down my grandsons throat and turn him inside out, obviously it's not a concern. The person making the threat has to be capable of doing it, so if my grandson says he is gonna kick my butt it doesn't rise to the level of a viable threat. Basically it has to be believable.
  9. Because neither myself nor you are likely to press charges against our spouses especially with no other witnesses. The guy at the mall can easily press charges, especially if someone else witnesses it. If your wife threatens yiu and you are afraid you most certainly have the right to call the police. Happens pretty regularly.
  10. Schools are an odd combination of zero tolerance and unwillingness to prosecute. There a ton of difference between my wife threatening to beat my butt and me threatening to beat someone's butt at the mall.
  11. The worst thing about spoonbill is after you are done catching them they are still spoonbill. They don't turn into fish sticks or even a McDonald hamburger. They are edible but I don't care for them so I don't fish for them. Although I did smoke some once and it was pretty tasty.
  12. Fighting a carp on UL gear is a lot of fun . . . For a while, then you just want your gear back so you can cast again for something else. Though carp from that water might pretty good eating.
  13. Right now it is high, cold and muddy. Will still be falling hard by then. Would expect the heavy releases to pull the muddy water down to the lower lake. If yiu can avoid the debris you might be better off by then to head way upriver and look for some clearer water.
  14. Shhh, there might be a few other critters swimming around out there looking for something to attack.
  15. At least the lake is back to normal elevation. Should help any runs up from the lake, and make some megawatts to boot.
  16. Most likely, but was thinking if below it would be way down, warmer maybe with some on the rain run off. I should have rolled for my walleye grounds this evening, but not sure how well my eye was going to do driving the narrow roads after dark, so I wimped out.
  17. Above Stockton Lake or below?
  18. Thank Heavens, I was worried about the carp populations.
  19. I bought mine on line a couple weeks ago. Since I am only 51 I certainly hope it's not my last time.
  20. They Walleye guys on the bank seem to live and die by the clown rogue jerkbait. I couldn't catch a cold with one.
  21. Cathing a sturgeon in MO would have been cool for sure.
  22. Nothing wrong with a red dot, makes it easier to get on target with older eyes. If I was a turkey hunter I think I would just sit in my wife's deer stand and wait quietly, but they would be about 60 yards out and too far for me. Think I will stick to morels and fishing.
  23. Heck it only up to "normal". They will be turning it into megawatts all along the white river. Stockton.looked like it was almost normal again, and Pomme since it was at normal to start with it up close to 10 feet. Spring has come a bit early looks like.
  24. I have used the propane torch to burn the paint out of the eye many times.. not the best method probably but works.
  25. I use a small torch, don't pause or lead foes "bloop" and fall off. Only one dip is necessary.
