  1. Was out last night for a bit,at that time the floaters were gone, appeared to have been blown to shore by wind. Doesn't mean the wind won't switch and blow them right back out again. Wasn't bass fishing but did catch a few on lower end of lake, didn't catch enough to really see a pattern though. The Pomme de Terre Lake river fishing faceboom page gets several posts and reports might be worth a look?
  2. I am one of those annoying folks who when asked "how is the fishing" replies its GREAT. Catching could be better though.
  3. Exactly. Will be a great spawn/hatch year for crappie and bass.
  4. "Normal"is certainly not the same as the average. As straw hat said it is an elevation that is established to allow an impoundment to meet its authorized purposes, whether that be power generation, flood control, water supply, navigation, recreation or whatever else was authorized. Sometimes noted as power pool, conservation pool, or multi purpose pool (probably the most correct). Many lakes often have seasonal pool levels or targets as well.
  5. 7 day QPF doesn't look too good.
  6. Answer desk fee schedule for Ask the Fishing Wrench. Answers - Green Correct answers- $1 each Smart Alec answers - free Highly opiniated but un-provable answers frequent and free. Politically Correct answers - well that just ain't gonna happen. Mechanical related answers - still free but those are solid.
  7. Dang it is a wide rascal.
  8. It is most certainly carp time around the lakes. They are everywhere.
  9. No fishing license and way over limit, play stupid games you win stupid prizes. Bummer that it had to be carp, but then again if they were gonna be way over limit, I certainly won't be stressed that the carp were removed. I would assume that particular river doesn't have a lot of other fishing so they decided to make the best of it and manage it for big carp. However I know NOTHING about the Connecticut River and really am.not interested enough to research it.
  10. Dang it you figured out my secret code! πŸ˜„
  11. Nope, but read it however you wish to.
  12. Musky and I have a love/hate relationship. They apparently love my crankbaits and I hate their guts for it.
  13. There is a difference in cussing with and being cussed at.
  14. I have a buddy who runs multiple crews and usually 3 to 5 projects going at any one time. Guys that decide you are over charging them and break off the work are the bane of most good carpenters. Like you noted they go to the back of the line and may well get told to pound sand if they aren't polite about it.
  15. I will say it may seem a bit early but trolling crakbaits through those suspended fish can put fishing the boat in a hurry at times. I suck at it, so don't know a lot about it.
  16. I wish I could give some exact spots but Don have any right now. Brad at I am outdoors have a video posted to the Pomme de Terre Lake Fishing or somethingike that, Facebook page that might give some good advice. I am headed to LOZ to accept a challenge from a couple if retired bosses. I have made my brag about how I will beat both of them put together so I expect to post a goose egg tonight!
  17. The station in Humansville is now carrying ethanol free premium. At least that is what it says, ain't cheap though. Few years back one of the big dogs at LSK in Lebanon said 80% of their mechanic work was a result of bad/poor quality fuel. Didn't say ethanol just bad fuel. Thankfully truck and car seem to run on as you said whatever swill they happen to be selling.
  18. Whites will spew eggs for a long time it seems. And that is a good thing, very glad to see the whites coming back strong on Pomme.
  19. I had 50:1 mixed for small 3ngines that went bad. Poured it into a pint and it separated into 2 different layers in a very short time. Dumped it all out and refueled with fresh mixed and vroom. I do usually add something like Seafoam or Lucas and am anal about using ethanol free fuel in boat and all small engines. Just finished "fixing" an ATV and a lawnmower for a friend by siphoning all the fuel out and refilling with fresh Ethanol free fuel (with some Seafoam) and letting them run while I puttered around with other things. By time I was done both were running fine. Bad gas happens but am gonna keep using Ethanol free if for no other reason that it hasn't let me down like regular fuel has.
  20. Just to clarify, releases from Pomme, Stockton and Truman are not affected by LOZ at all.
  21. I never saw anything like 859, was an early crest prediction of that but didn't get the extra rain and they always predict high. Leveled out now.
  22. Crappie spawn has been happening for a few weeks. They spawn in waves over a period of time. Have seen a lot of fish on beds shallow before the latest rains. High water during the spawn ways makes for a very successful spawn year. They will spawn when and where they can. The fast rising water would have held them off for a few days but with it stabilizing and just beginning to fall they will be back at it. Hard fall would be 6 inches a day on Pomme and while not perfect won't hurt them. 3 days to hatch, 7 days to decent mobility and a ton of stuff to hide in makes for high survival rate. 2025 will be another super good crappie year. High water during spawn makes for tough fishing but good spawning.
  23. No pics if Nemo, yesterday it wasn't too bad, but with releases opened up and time for the debris to move down it will not be clear. Upper Pomme was a mess. The long high water of 2019 left a lot if standing dead timber that has been breaking off and become drift this go round.
  24. Should crest out tomorrow. Inflows dropped way back, outflow up to 3000 cfs. Still gonna take a while to get back down. But man it's gonna be another awesome spawn year!
  25. 841.83 currently. Outflow down to 2000 cfs. If rains would stop for a while it would level out around 841.0 Fish are certainly there, the other night small bass up in the flooded bushes were voracious. Of course I was crappie fishing so they were annoying. πŸ˜€
