  1. It would be interesting if you could put numbers on each one and see how many different ones come in a day. Or do you know each one be sight @BilletHead

  3. The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check

  4. Well, @Bassin4fun you have done well and inspired me to give it a try. went twice, had 2 keepers along with several shorts. Next time didn't do well at all. caught most on the wacky worm or other type of bottom bait. Seemed like they were slow you had to let it sit awhile but once they took it they held on to it. The bait fish were out in the channel on the surface so maybe soomething swam out deeper would work. too late now I pulled the paddle john off the trailer. It's at duck camp now with my layout boat on it.
  5. There was a B-24 bomber up in Springfield all weekend. Must have been giving rides. I could hear that plane coming well before I would see it.Those old motor have a loud deep roar to them so I suspect boaters would get out of their way quick.
  6. I may have caught that one last year fishing in the same area of Oahe. She would have had to have had a good growth year.

    What's Cooking?

First try with the new smoker with digital display and temperature control. Tried a few duck and goose breast. Duck dot 1 day in salt and brown sugar, goose got 3.
  9. I haven't fished there for some time. Never came up with anything like those. I drive an hour to go to any of the big lakes and I my house backs up to Lake Springfield park. Guess I better get down there. Do you launch by the dam or by the boathouse?
  10. I read that article. He caught a 6#+ the day before. Also he weighed it in at a resort right where near where I stayed last July. The record before was from a lake we fish in NE SD but it was a prespawn porked out fish that was not even 20" long. Oahe may be on an upswing as far as smallmouth. Sad fact, when you go to the cleaning stations lots of fishermen will have a limit of smallies.😩
  11. Tried yesterday. Got there just as the water got turned on. No luck with the hopper. as they say the fish weren't looking up. caught a couple long but thin fish on the jigs. Heat got to me so I left around 5.
  12. Just like the boat ramp, always a good show going on.
  13. Seems like it would be time for a hopper bite with the water being turned on early afternoon. Has anyone been out or has it been just too hot?

    What's Cooking?

how did that beer go with the fish?
  15. I don't like a lot of the electronics that they put on trucks these days but my next one will have a backup camera
  16. The tailgate of yours looks abit like mine, trailer backing adventures?
  17. Caught some smallmouth in MT on Flathead Lake near Glacier and the flathead river that flows out of it. Snake river in Idaho is suppose to be good.

  19. Unfortunately the fry started spilling out of it's mouth before we realized what was going on.
  20. No photo to back this up but on a recent trip to Venice, LA I caught approximately 30 fish on one bait. The fish was a hard head catfish which are mouth brooders. The male holds the eggs in it mouth until they hatch. the young will return to the mouth for protection as well. I pulled this act in and when I was getting the hook out small 1-11/2" babies came pouring out of it's mouth. Not sure how that cat was going to eat a shrimp with a mouth full of it's young.
  21. I wonder how it will look in 5 years. Just got back from LA. All the bay boat are just fiberglass on the deck and it seems to work fine. My Xpress is of the same design as their bay boats. The carpet around the edges of the compartment doors make them hard to open.
