  1. Didnt get any cicada action, but hit wild trout creek. It got boring after a half hour. Rainbow trout cannot resist the peach glo ball in cloudy water.
  2. What? You are not dead yet? I was hoping for your demise, prove me wrong.
  3. That’s an odd observation coming from you. Did you troll that on Truth Social and get the boot or what?
  4. That's a wonderful video. You really captured the whole experience. Thanks!
  5. I was tying some "actual size" with foam bodies this weekend and the gap on a size 6 standard dry fly hook looked to small and flimsy for my preference. I settled on a Dai Riki 810 in size 4 (1x strong, standard shank, straight eye). An available equivalent would be a Gamakatsu B10S.
  6. Look for a tree on water's edge that is loaded with cicada's and cast one under it. Cicada's are clumsy fliers and make for easy pickings for the fish.
  7. We have a few, but we cant hear them yet..I-270 & I-44 area.
  8. Worksharp first, then the Japanese Water Stones.
  9. I’d put some new hooks and rings on the larger cranks & poppers and fish them like I’m trying to loose them.
  10. Capt Bill Faulkner or Capt John Stark can hook you up with tarpon or snook near Marco or Everglades City,
  11. You would have to do 200 trips a year @ $500 a trip to gross $100K. Maybe net $80K in cash pretax. Depreciation on the boat & truck will shelter some from tax, but there are easier ways to make $65K a year.
  12. Think the only way to make money guiding is to have a wealthy wife.
  13. Steve Adams passed on April 9th, 8 days shy of his 74th Birthday. Many of you probably knew him as the Gnomish looking fellow that hung out at Hargrove’s fly Shop. We had many good times together in Michigan, out west, and chasing smallmouth & trout in the Ozarks. No services will be held. That is all,
  14. Great Job!
  15. Sweet! Those are good eating size!

    What's Cooking?

Tried something new, and it turned out well. Plan to make more for river snacks.
  17. I use the tolling motor more than the oars. It’s camoed with a led light bar now. It works great in the duck marsh as well as down river. Holding up fine and those NRS oar locks will outlast the boat. I have a shorter set of NRS locks if you want them. They were a bit shorter than I wanted.
  18. Very nice! Can’t wait to see it float!
  19. That's a nice little truck camper. If I had a place to store it, I'd probably grab it. My wife and children are used to a 30' camper though. I'm fine with a tent, bag, and a thermarest.

    Aldie's

An Aldi just opened up in the former Lucky’s market space a couple blocks from me. The selection is sparse, but what is there has been good quality and well priced. We buy allot of staples there. Prime rib is all about the grade of meat. Get some USDA prime, for the least amount of $.
  21. It is abnormally warm and dry this winter. We are in a mild drought pattern and it seems like spring is starting a week or two early. Thanks El Nino!
  22. Get on with it. It’s a common procedure, and most who have the procedure are 100% in a short time. Make sure you’re NOT using oneshots healthcare provider. Siteman in STL does a great job. Best to you.
  23. Yes there are Annual Cicadas, they are black & green mostly with some white on the belly. They are common in late summer, per my pool skimmer bucket surveys.
  24. We had a double brood in the 1990’s and the fish would get full quick. The single brood 10+ years ago was better. There will be allot of big bugs falling in the water, but buy some ear plugs. They are LOUD!
