  1. Looks like a gut eating cannibal slob! You catch that one under a fish cleaning station?
  2. I dunno, don’t really care. Let there be songs, to fill the air.
  3. Fine with me, but I don’t my name on another Government list😀!
  4. That’s a piggy on a dry, not many places you can do that. With a shape like that you would think it was a slob cannibal waiting for some rainbow guts.
  5. Great ties and pics, allot of effort can go into to painting those!
  6. The water level is a bit high on both rivers, but it should be stable, sunny, and warm, with no precipitation in the forecast for the next ten days. Both rivers will be packed for the next two weekends. Have a great trip!
  7. There was a guy running a Mokai on the upper Current about 10 years ago. I guess he broke it, and stopped. He was hitting gravel in spots a jet boat, or loaded canoe would cruise right through. The Current and Jack's limits are on the Ozark Scenic Riverways website. https://www.nps.gov/ozar/planyourvisit/horsepower.htm The Eleven Point is limited to 25hp upstream from the 142 Bridge at the Narrows. You can run anything you want to run on any other river in this State. I saw an airboat on the Meramec a couple years ago.
  8. Wow! That does look nice. What does it weigh with all the gizmos and batteries installed? Buck 40?
  9. My wife is from Washington. The lake is a gathering spot, just like the bars down on the riverfront. I've been a there several times, give it a shot, but there is probably better walk in fishing on the BB and Meramec. Find a friend in town who knows how to fish for catfish on the Missouri. Hit the creek mouths, until you find a friend with a capable boat. You have lots of options.
  10. Its a good float. Kinda need that on your resume if you want to say your a smallmouth fisherman in Missouri. The first stretch through Portuegese Pt...has some of the tallest bluffs in the MO Ozarks...scenery is pretty grand, other than the highway noise. Take some pics there. The piney confluence always has some fish. The locals like to limb line for catfish, so watch for them hanging in the shady spots.
  11. If it looks bad have them haul you up the B. Piney instead. It’s always clearer than the Gasconade. Fishes just as well.
  12. I hope they had a fish fry. Good times. It’s a treat to eat eat wild game and fresh caught fish with your friends.
  13. I'd suggest that you toss your fears in the dumpster and go do what you want to do. Deal with whatever happens, which is usually nothing.
  14. Your gonna need to burn gas and knock on doors. You might find some access. It’s been 15 years since I’’ve bothered to head up so it probably wasn’t that good. YMMV. That’s a creek that require a self shuttle with a friend and a CCW.

    What's Cooking?

https://www.saucemagazine.com/recipe/1207/guerrilla-street-foods-flying-pig?fbclid=IwAR0XD3gG03R3hU_dVPoSe7PPnOKsq8iR0f5VELuZ071_2dkiNmKXR3XgnAg We tried this...It's really simple and very good. Even w/o the poached egg. Food truck type stuff.
  16. Those will stretch you string! Good for you!
  17. Looks like a good time! Good for you! Annual trips are always fun.
  18. Surface: Gaines Sneaky Pete size 2 in Chartruese MInnow Thingy: White Wooly Bugger size 4 Bottom Thingy: Black Wooly Bugger size 4 Small thingy to hang a foot under your Sneaky Pete...Pick some random trout nymphs about a size 10 with a bead head & rubber legs. That should cover most of it.
  19. Hope you didn’t scare him off and he bought something. Your first fly rod will never be the one you stick with. Don’t buy the Ferrari when you can barely drive. You need to master a beatching Camaro, and a Porche first.
  20. It's in the middle of nowhere, and very rustic. Lane Spring is very nice in comparison and rarely crowded, I cant imagine Paddy Creek ever getting crowded but you never know. There seems to be a ton of junkies in the Rolla/St. Robert area so take precautions.
  21. You never know with rainbows. Private hatcheries raise trout and deliver them all over the place. If you want some, I'd recommend these folks. Call and ask for Tom. http://westoverfarms.com/trout-hatchery-sales/
  22. Battery powered LED's are light, cheap, and easy to mount or stick on just about anything. You would think that could light up a kayak for $100 plus the price of a small re-chargeable 12Vbattery.
  23. That’s fatty! Good for you.
  24. The water is pretty deep and cold, so you will probably want waders unless your visiting during the heat of summer. I've always found small gravel bars to camp on. The float camps are close to the river. They are marked with small signs in the trees sometimes, toilet paper balls in the woods most times. You should plan some time to hike down to Greer Spring. Its about a mile and a half round trip from the top of the trailhead, just up the hill to the south from the 19 bridge and Greer campground. You might consider some shorter trips instead of one long multi-day. The Jack's Fork is just to the north of the Eleven Point. and the Upper Current is just north of that. All three are great floats.
  25. Military jets usually have two engines, and they are incredibly loud. I have some hearing loss that I got from working on them years ago. The noise might have something to do with the shape of the engines, number of fans, and exhaust design. They are long and narrow with more fans than a large diameter civilian jet engine with only a few rotating fans. The exhaust on the military engines are variable too. The exhaust can narrow and expand based upon the amount of throttle. A jet mech could tell you more. I just fixed electronic gizmos. They get even louder when they light up the afterburners.
