  1. I'm good for 3, now you are down to 14. Check to be mailed tomorrow. Thank you both for all you do for the participants. I always enjoy reading the reports Marty shares.
  2. I agree.
  3. I can't confirm or deny that. But the images are now working
  4. I really think you need a trolling motor on those rivers.
  5. Possible solution to keep the trailers with different size ball adapters. I have 2 trailers with different sizes. I haven't pulled the second one, but I keep the slide in adapter with each trailer. I've thought of spray painting the hitch and receiver to match each other to keep a similar situation from happening. I don't tow often, but I would be very worked up if that happened to me.
  6. I'm in similar situation. I'm willing to split costs of renting if seats are not available.
  7. Woo hoo!! Either way, I'll be there.
  8. @grizwilsoncaught this at Taneyfest in Dec 2018. Looked like a rainbow otherwise.
  9. I can understand that reasoning. I can't say I agree, but I understand.
  10. I'm curious about the tagged fish. Why would they catch and release undesired fish? In order to tag them, you must catch them. Once caught, why reintroduce it? I'm very confused with the intent of that process. But, congratulations to those who got paid to fish. Doesn't sound like a bad part time gig. Set your own hours, and goals.
  11. From Northwest Canoe Company the design company's website: Specifications Overall Length 16 ft. Rocker - Bow Stern 1 / ½ Beam at Gunwales 26½ in. Maximum Beam 29 in. 3 in. Waterline 27 in. Sheer Bow 16 in. Amidships Depth 12 in. Sheer Stern 14 ½ in. Approx Weight 42 pounds I do plan to build paddles, but they will be a while. If I was wise, I would have started on them in the spring/summer while still building up stamina and strength. I still have a but to do on the canoe. I need to sand down the final coat of epoxy, and varnish the outside. Then flip, sand, fiberglass and sand the inside. Then gunwales, decks and a seat. I plan to make the seat out of webbing and foam. I contemplated caning a seat, but I really don't believe I will. I do plan to use the slide board that made a bridge from the wheelchair to wherever I would move to a seated position as my decks. It already has holes cut out for handles. And I think it will be a good piece, as it was a big part of my life during this time.
  12. Today's updates. I had to sand the fill coats, (you can see the fiberglass weave), and a couple casualties (bugs). Applied a final coat, and glassed the stems closed. Gonna let the final coat cure about a week, maybe 2.
  13. I have been successful with Lilley's jigs on bluegill in Jeffco. I couldn't tell you what size(s) I use. I don't often use a float.
  14. Thoughts? I think it's very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I think it's always best to have control of your own products.
  15. My physical therapist has a saying that compliments this theory. "Motion is lotion".
  16. Welcome to Stl. Hope you both are successful. Looking forward to the rest of your trip.
  17. Neat finds and interesting info Marty. Thanks for taking the time to share. There are still good people, many are here.
  18. What do you mean by shallow? I seemed to do ok with DD6's in orange craw. It's been a couple years, but I don't cover nearly as much water, and can say I was satisfied with the results.
  19. A couple years ago I did well on the tiny torpedo, brown crawdad color. I wasn't on Big River, but not really far from where you were fishing Harris.
  20. Well, I'm doing much better and am able to pick up where I left off. Here are photos from yesterday and today. the Fiberglass cloth had a white or silvery look to it. It disappears when the 2 part epoxy resin and hardener are applied.
  21. 70% of the guys I've met claim they can play a professional sport. Or that they are mechanics. They can take on most anyone. Etc. What that means to them, vs what it means to me, are vastly different.
