Can someone who watched or knows about the situation give us the Cliff Notes version? I really don't want to watch 55 minutes of trial. Thanks.

I believe those who feel this way, are the ones who will be long term in the hobby. Then ones who jump in for glory seem to fade quickly. Exceptions to every rule, of course.

This would be a great option for those who want to tow a boat and a camper. Too bad there isn't a mini van conversion option. Post it on FB, and I'll share it.

I'm saddened by the thought of no more BilletHead and Mrs adventures. But grateful for the ones you all took us on.

How are you? Glad to see you still peeking in.

He was referring to the Indian as the human drawing the bow. It's the bow, not the operator.

And another record set by a MO angler
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to Quillback's topic in General Angling Discussion
He lives in my town, but I don't know him. Them bighead and silvers have really taken over my local ditch, and I'm not happy about it. I bought a bow fishing rig, but haven't been able to get out to use it properly. -
We had no doubt. That is what most of us appreciate about ya.

Awful nice of you.

Here is what I'm converting to be my micro fishing kit. Not in the European use of the word kit, but an actual all in one type of bundle. Soda can for size reference. It all fits into a belt pack, and can be easily transported into the woods, to find the small waters that hold smaller fish, that nobody ever fished. The extending net handle stays in the tackle box above the micro rod. See the rod? Its in the black velvet ink pen case.. I can comfortably and easily touch the ground with my net. It should be able to scoop the lunkers out with ease. here you see my micro rod. It is a Frankenstein of Tenkara rods that have been cut down. The length extended is about 4 feet. I hope to put this kit to use over the weekend and report back.

That's almost exactly what I did. I will try to remember to take a picture this evening of my setup When you catch some of these, they wiggle ad shake so violently, they get off before you can grab them. They drop in tbe water and you weren't able to positively identify them. A net would be a bit of insurance.

Although these lunkers are micro, the aquarium nets that I've seen are still pretty small. You stil have to reach out to the end of your rod and lime to scoop them. The length of handle makes a difference as well as the opening of the net. The ultra fine mesh makes it hard to swipe the water also. I'll post pictures of my adapted net.

When the kids are smiling, the day was good.

Did the corned beef and cabbage thing. I was actually pretty impressed, it came out very tender. I don't believe I have any Irish descendents, so added a German flair of a Bavarian pretzel. Somewhere along the line I have German history. Or so I'm told. All I know, is I'm St Louisan. Side note. Did you know, you dont have ro wait until 50 to join AARP? We saved a good amount on an upcoming cruise and on airline tickets.

For anyone interested. I seen a post on Facebook where someone used a tennis racket to make a fishing net. It looked great. I also have had many times the micros fell back into the water while fumbling with them. I am working to create a net for micros with a badminton racket. I do have a homeade job that extends like an old car antenna. Haven't put it to trials yet.

Bucket List Item: catch a fish in all 50 States
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to Ham's topic in General Angling Discussion
I only have only fished 5, caught in 4. I do not wish to visit all of the states, so I'll never catch in all. I do want to catch some Colorado trout, and California bluegill. I plan to arrange a saltwater trip this year, but, Cody and the boys have been keeping me busy on MO and AR trout. -
Tying onto the tanago hooks is pretty difficult due to the pre attached leader. I've tried many times and often break the hook. Here is a link to a photo tank that includes a measurement to keep track of your lunkers. @Ham and or @Johnsfolly may be able to help with identifying your catches that you are having uncertainties about. Welcome to the fun.

How to beat your Buddies to the honey hole
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to netboy's topic in General Chat
Wow, that takes alot of trust and fearlessness. I don't nearly enough of either one. -
We had an all out excellent time. From smoked pork steaks, Korean quesadillas, duck Philly cheese steak sandwiches, zuppa tuscana soup, GUMBO!!, cheesy baked mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy, fried crappie, fried shrimp, and lots I'm forgetting. Tied some flies, rode in boats, caught fish, told stories and jokes. Oh, and a flotilla. Yup, it was a blast.

Sounds like a great idea. And thanks for the compliment/acknowledgement. I feel pretty special getting tips from PeppeRonnie. LOL. Honestly, I was kinda curious on your thoughts.

How many sections does that 30 foot rod have?

Homeade Pizza tonight. The bacon is not burnt, just could not get good lighting. These slid right out of the cast iron. Really good pizzas over all. I.greased upmthe skillets with butter, covered it with fish fry, I was out of corn meal. Pillsbury pizza dough dry packs, marinara sauce, topped with cooked sausage, pepperoni, cheese, black olives and partially pre cooked bacon. Baked at The cutter was a great investment, Walmart special.
