  1. If I may ask, are you dead sticking the wooly bugger for carp, or retrieving it? I've tried a handful of times and know exactly where they are. No interest.
  2. Glad to see more people becoming conservation aware. It is a very debatable subject, but the more we understand where we are, it helps to guide were we are going.
  3. I had to look up the fly, it looks really neat. Might have to tie one or 2.
  4. I've yet to have two on one lure.
  5. Excellent video. The materials were clear and easily understood. The methods were easy to follow.
  6. Excellent information. Thank you.
  7. I gave an honest try on 3 streamers from the winter fly swap. I was not successful. I tried @Ham's Seagar minnow, @BilletHead 's minnow?, and @budman 's wooly bugger variation? Sorry I could not remember all the names of the flies. I hooked up with Ham's with a sunfish but it got off. I had chases with the other two, but no takers. I tried in a local creek, there are bass but it is pretty well pressured in this small area I can access. I did have sucess with a goofy fly I tied. San Juan style worm with hackle wrapped around it. And a micro pink marabou tuft.
  8. That's a great idea. I guess I'm ahead of the curve. I got this at the fly shop, but they are available online. https://www.lilleysriverside.com/shop/Apparel.htm
  9. I fished this pond a year or 2 ago. Tiny pond. I wasn't even sure it was fishable. It is ultra low, and the fountains and waterfall are not on. I still wanted to try it out. Had a little time while the kids were swimming. All on flies I tied. Lost every fly in trees this evening.
  10. Subscription required. Glad you were selected.
  11. I caught about 10, 3 in a row, this evening. Had about 45 minutes. All about this size. This one was not excited about his picture being taken and tried to escape.
  12. Not to sound like someone who really was/is passionate about carp, but micro fishing has really made a name for itself. It's cheaper and much more skilled than casting and reeling. I really enjoy the posts of all fish caught. I'm grateful for Ham, John, Dave, and all others who post their adventures. Keep catching your mutts, I appreciate those posts also.
  13. Solid from nose to tail.
  14. I think if you keep posting your fly tying links on YouTube, it would help keep traffic moving on here. Also your one cast videos.
  15. Best of luck. Topwater is fun.
  16. That sounds like a great time. You guys are really living it up.
  17. Wow!! No thanks. I don't wanna work on that.
  18. Welcome to OAF. It's a good time to be on here, seems like things are starting to fire up.
  19. @BilletHeadgot me wanting to see if the gills near me were active. I decided to go to my local overfished pond. Had a great evening. 1 Crappie landed, 1 lost while lifting it out of the pond many green sunfish and a few bluegills. Crappie pictured was on a green thread black ghost streamer that was tied for the winter fly swap. I was playing with colors. The others were caught on a foam popper I tied. Many more were caught. All released. Now is the time.
  20. No whole page ads yet covering the content. Thanks Phil.
  21. I know someone who works for the department. She says she has gotten calls and has had to explain to people MDC did not put this out. I found it funny. But it also is troublesome to know many people believe something so vague.
  22. I've rented from Big Cedar Lodge. Our pontoon had electronics and a trolling motor. I can't remember the cost. I have made the long term decision not to buy a bass boat. For my use it will be cheaper to rent one wherever I go. 4 to 6 hundred for two days rental if I remember correctly. I can still drive my mini van, no truck payments. I don't have to worry about finding a place to park it while going out to dinner, shopping etc. No monthly boat payments, insurance, storage etc. But, I also don't live close to a lake to really enjoy it.
  23. Forgive the hijack, but how would you go about finding the original hp rating data of a hull. I have an old Landau 14 foot, and I think 60' on bottom. Can't remember, but it's wide. The plate was sun bleached and painted over when I got it. It has an old Merc 9.8, but it isn't much. Never reached over 10 mph.
