  1. I get it. I have a little 8 year old girl. We as Americans need to quit whining about the little things. We have softened so much. Just as these posts reveal, we did so much worse as kids. We have a choice, complain about kids being lazy and not playing outside, or let them be kids when they do.
  2. Those kids should be honored for playing outside.
  3. Yep, I'm married. We could probably supply the neighborhood.
  4. It will be gone next week. I may need to invest in a new broom myself. I already have the bread, milk, and eggs.
  5. Happy birthday, Bo. Thank you for sharing your experience and info.
  6. I regret to inform you all that I will not be able to attend. I bought Monster Jam tickets for the family on that Saturday. They were Christmas presents, and I did not realize that they were on the same dates as the Jigfest.
  7. Stopped in, seen Mitch, met his wife and little girl. Seen Aaron, and got a little bit. My son had a great time, and really enjoyed the videos showing the Hi Def Craw. There was one were the lure was being attacked by a live craw. My son thought the lure was real. I was able to buy some neat items, seen alot of cool products. I really enjoyed myself. They have a fishing tank for the kids. My son caught two fish from there.
  8. My version of chicken fried rice: Cook white rice the day before and refrigerate. I add a bullion cube to my water. Dice chicken and marinate in teriyaki sauce overnight. Pour a decent amount of lemon pepper on the chicken about an hour before cooking. Let sit out on the counter for about an hour. Scramble an egg, set aside. Cook chicken in a skillet on med warm. Try to cook out the water. Heat up some sesame seed oil in a large skillet on warm. Add rice straight from fridge to the warm oil, turn heat on high. Stir the egg into the rice, add some sesame seed oil (not much). Keep stirring. Add soy sauce to taste towards the end. I like to serve the chicken over rice.
  9. Yeah, I was thinking of you. Telling me to slow down. I tried. LOL
  10. Great looking. Can't wait to see it in person.
  11. I was thinking about using a bobber, but only took the rod from the van, no tackle box. I don't plan to keep them. I am spin fishing, I have a good assortment of stuff to throw at them. I will try your retrieve advice. Thank you.
  12. I snuck to Suson Park to fish for the trout. I went on lunch break, about 1:30. There were a decent amount of people fishing. I seen a few people leaving with their limits as I pulled into a parking spot. I only had about 30 minutes to play. I used a jig from Lilley's Marina. Peach and sculpin. I was not successful. I did see people pulling fish in, one guy caught a small bass. I had to go back to work. I may try again later in the week. The trout were active, seen a few rises, and some jumpers. Good luck out there. Edited to add time of day.
  13. You pretty much answered your own question. They don't dump as many of the other fish, as actively as the trout. The fish that are still in the ponds a few weeks after stocking are usually out of reach of most fisherman.
  14. I do that. I have been working on the spinning reel retrieve. I am also closing the bail by hand. I hope to not irritate anyone. Lol
  15. I didn't know about it. What are the times and admission? I could look it up...
  16. Have to wait and see. Lol
  17. Stop in a local marina, tackle shop such as Lilley's for current info. Be open to fishing in the dark, the larger fish come out then. Bring a headlamp, with extra batteries. Just because you can see the fish, doesn't mean you will catch them.
  18. I have a cot and I am willing to use it if we need to cram people in. Jeff, would you like me to send you my part? I don't want you to be without if we have another situation.
  19. I understand what you're saying, but I would like to counter. Maybe 1 through 95 don't help me, but 96 through 100 would. ..bring waders to fish by the dam. .. wear polarized sunglasses. ..expect to be evacuated if the horn sounds. ..bring a large net (your not fishing for butterflies in Taney) . ... a fishing vest or similar helps keep your hands free. I know these are simple, but they are things I learned from my visit. I will add more as I think of them.
  20. I second them.
  21. There is no asking price in your post. It's definitely out of my range, but others may be interested.
  22. ?? Match the hatch???
  23. ?? Match the hatch???
  24. That was really interesting. I never would have considered spiders could be that sensitive to electrical current.
  25. I would strongly consider the drive down, but work is on the agenda.
