  1. I am interested in a lot of what he posts. I also read all of the counter arguments, and am interested in them. This kind if discussion is what interested me in joining the site years ago. I have messaged Mocarp and thanked him for his information, and dedication. We have lost people over the years that I have been a member due to others insulting. I understand the counter points, and the friendly jabs, but, don't understand the insults.
  2. All it takes is 1 introduction of foreign material to make a difference. Whether it be natural, accidental or otherwise. Could it be waterfowl? Sure. Could it be human? Sure. Could it be deer or other mammals? Sure. It could be all of these things. But at the same time, it doesn't hurt to be diligent stewards.
  3. I would like to see the expirament.
  4. Never seen it.
  5. Thought you were a leach guy Wrench. I do like the idea of letting the snakes find their way home. Point driven home. Unfortunately those who need to read this never will.
  6. Without being long winded, I believe cnr has made a difference in the size of fish. There are more fish continually fighting for the same things. We all learned that many fish in one pond will keep the fish small no matter the genetic makeup. Fewer fish in the same pond will get larger. 100 years ago, it was common to remove stringers of large fish, the small fish had a lot of opportunity to become larger. Now, we shame any one for removing fish. Sure, many still do, but not on the caliber that used to be. (When the fish were commonly larger)
  7. 55 and Imperial on the outer road. Next to the shooting range. My FIL used them. He was satisfied with the results.
  8. Keep at it. Fishing stories are similar to gambling stories. You generally only hear the positive ones. People get skunked a whole lot more than they admit. You had fun, that's why I fish. I count the tiny ones just the same as the large ones. I take a picture of most all of them. Keep reporting, we all enjoy success stories.
  9. Ketchup is a good guy. He will steer you right. I just bought an aluminum canoe. Thought about joining, I think it qualifies me now. Lol.
  10. $25.00
  11. Ok. Makes sense now. Guess I could have looks at a map. I have passed through Hannibal a handful of times, but usually on a path to a destination. Haven't heard of Florida,MO
  12. Brick by brick, Chuck built the house he was born in. Didn't know MT flooded rivers connected to Florida. Or did I misread?
  13. I have a couple ideas, but am no electrician. Need to know what the smoker draws amperage wise. Also need to know what amp rating your gfci outlet is. You are in a kind of catch 22 also. Your smoker has a limit of power draw, the shuts off, then on again. Doing that will wreak havoc on the gfci. Here's the catch 22. You have to have gfci protection on outside outlets.
  14. His forum name recently was rfisherk.
  15. Very sorry to read this. Ron, I don't know if you will ever see this, but thanks for all the stories. Luckily, I was able to message him a few times after he came back. A good man.
  16. You win! Whatever the contest was, you just won it! LMAO
  17. You..? Make enemies.....? Nah!
  18. No, by my older brother.
  19. Eerie. I had this exact conversation given to me this last weekend.
  20. Looks to be a productive spot.
  21. I am by no means a fly fisherman. Although, I did watch most if not all of Hank Patterson's videos. What first interested me in it was a tournament that closed the dock of my favorite pond at the time. People came out and put tape up closing the dock. I figured it was for safety reasons. So, being the diligent 10'ish year old boy I was, I decided it was my duty to figure out where the danger was. Went out on the dock, everything was solid. We no longer needed the tape restricting entry, so I removed it. About an hour later, we were kicked off of the dock, due to a Fly Fishing Tournament. "A what!?" So the guy explained it to me. They had rings on the water approximately 14 inches around. Each one had a value. It looked cool. About25 years later, I got my first flyrod. Used it a handful of times, just doesn't seem so interesting. Maybe because it IS hard.
  22. Kind of on topic, has anyone used the "deeper" depth/fish finder?
  23. I have one called a fishing buddy. I have not been able to use it yet, but it is simple.
  24. My bucket list is really simple. Just one more...(It keeps updating).
  25. So if I snagged into an oak, pine, and a maple, would it count as a multiple species trip?
