  1. Excellent report gentlemen. That trip sounds fantastic. Glad you guys were able to do it.
  2. I learned that same recipe, but add wheaties. Old man in Carondelet park. Kind of hard to get past the lindberger cheese smell. I wish I knew about rubber gloves then.
  3. Are you using a 3 prong plug in your power supply? You could use the house ground, the circle at the bottom of most recepticles. Where is the ground on the depth finder? Or is that one of your questions?
  4. Dude, that I awesome! If only there was someone who could verify the catches.... no, really I know you guys will never forget, neither will I.
  5. I'm in. Need lodging and a boat seat. Willing to pay my share on both. Excited to see the White River.
  6. Fro what reports I have seen, it has really improved.
  7. Serie Finales are a guilty pleasure for me. Especially when they have great callbacks. The one that still gets me is when Sam says "were closed" at the end of Cheers.
  8. I enjoy this thread. Maybe, no one is incorrect, and there is a problem with the lake, or habitat. Discussions like this are what get things moving. I appreciate the input from everyone. I "learned" a few things.
  9. I will be leaving from the St Louis area if anyone would like to ride down. I have a mini van, plenty of room.
  10. Count me in. Either works for me. Late Friday arrival. Need a boat seat if one is available.
  11. Honestly, I was hoping you would identify that for me. Believe it or not, one guy tried telling me it was a perch. I disagreed, but he said to verify it with the fishing merit badge counselor. I didn't bother. It really was. I had to do some creative bushwacking to stay out of the water. (I have a medical condition that keeps me out). The fish wanted it brought in fast and quickly shaken. A wise man on here once said, you should never allow the fish to see what the bait is made of. Keep it moving. (Paraphrase) Thanks Ron Krueger, it worked for me.
  12. Missouri Smallmouth Alliance Missouri Tream Teams.
  13. Had an opportunity to fish while the Boys took a float trip. Nothing of size, but a fun day of fishing none the less. All were on the top water spook jr.
  14. Best theory yet.
  15. Access points, seasons, land use to name a few. I am not able to give specific answers about when, where who, how etc. I dont go out and dig on that. I do know that I have talked to people about areas and visited some myself that were available and no longer are because people dont follow rules. Are some rules goofy? Sure. But to openly violate a rule and post it online. I don't recomend it.
  16. While I understand your question and problem. I just can't stay silent on this issue. Not obeying the rules is why we have lost so many privileges as fishermen. If you can't obey the rules for whatever reason, you should not attend. That is my 2cents.
  17. I heard he was walking across America for a charity.
  18. I'm sponsored by Cabela's if that holds true. I got a free hat for signing up for a credit card. I use it when I mow. (Hat, not the card. )
  19. My sons and I did that with a pool of gar one day. He still talks about it, and it's been 4 or 5 years. He's 12 now.
  20. Second day in a row fishing. Fun stuff. I fished the same stream just a really different section. I didn't get out as early as planned. Made my way to the location about 10ish. I was more successful today than I was yesterday. Not nearly as clear of water, but I caught a few different species. One I am not sure of at all. Please help me ID this. It has a black tail as seen from above. I have posted them before, but I caught one today. I have always called them cruisers. It gave a decent fight, and bit on the spook jr. Also got these today: I accidentally selected video on the phone instead of camera on this one.
  21. I have been wanting to fish for quite a while now. There is a stream local to me that I have been wanting to get on. The spring time had many floods and high waters. I have a health condition that keeps me out of "dirty" water. I attract infection. This water is very shallow and since @drew03cmc posted his top water success, I decided now was my time to visit said stream. It was clear, and shallow. I did no ot have any top water lures in my van with my tackle. So I used a crank bait,( shallow diver orange craw) very slow to start. A couple looks, partial follows, and that was it. I put on a Rick Clunn shad shallow diver. Caught a small Kentucky. Nothing else. I moved on down, and tried with no success. Seen a couple just below a riffle, targeted them, my first smallie. (Again). Nothing of size, and to be honest not much fight. I hung up, lost a lure, put on a rooster tail. That's what I got the smallie on. Seen a couple small Walters. It was getting darker quickly but I wanted to keep going. My wife and daughter are at camp, and my son is staying at a friend's house. I can stay out as long as I want, aside from the park where my van is, closes at dusk. I managed one more, another green fish. It was larger yet. Gonna get up early, if no rain, I have another spot in mind.
  22. Props. I was trying to come up with something very similar. Couldn't pull it off.
