  1. Yankee, welcome. Please comle back and let us know what worked for you.
  2. I know that spot! Great fish.
  3. @Macsimus lives up north. Maybe he can give some advice?
  4. The girls were so proud of their catch. Gotta zoom in. LOL
  5. I celebrated my 40th last Wednesday. It has been a tradition of my family and my wife's best friends family to camp to celebrate my birthday. The kids had a great time. My daughter Eva, and her daughter Avery share the same birthday 1 year apart. We fished at a lake separated by a street from our campsite. Avery had never caught a fish before. That changed this weekend. Thanks to @Johnsfolly and his little plastic lure. We even had doubles. Both girls caught a fish at the same time. Avery out caught all of us. I squeeked out 1 green sunfish. My 11 year old boy really, really wanted to catch a 'big' fish. We couldn't find a single bass (did not try the ned). I told him we could use one of the sunfish, cut in half as bait. We waited until almost dusk, casted as far, as we (he) could. He waited a while, then supper was ready. Put his pole in a holder, added a bell and just a few minutes later I seen the pole bend. I called him, he came running. He caught his 'big' fish. A good size channel cat.
  6. Happy birthday Phil. I turned 40 on the 12th. Went fishing this past weekend. I'll have the lack of report on shortly.
  7. Still available. Floats shallow
  8. I still have my Gheenoe for sale. It has very similar qualities as the NuCanoe. See previous listings.
  9. There is an intersection in St Louis city called Grand and Gravois there is a Schnucks there. Schnucks is our local grocery store it's been about 2 or 3 hours there and you will see all of that and more. We have Lone Oak Park which has elk, Whitetail, turkey and bison amongst a lots of other wildlife. We also have the st. Louis Zoo and Grant's Farm which has every animal that I desire to see caged. This city boy will take a ride on the boat any day though.
  10. Yes please !!
  11. Awesome trip, neat to see it play out on multiple pages and almost "live" to boot. Thanks for sharing with those of us who are drooling wishing their circumstances were just a little different. GOOD job to both of you.
  12. Not to discredit Dennis, sounds like a good guy. Many, many people are much better than the media would have us believe. We have had many posts on here people looking to reunite someone with lost property. As the newer country song goes, "I believe most people are good..."
  13. I remember when snowboarding made it to sports tv. Sims was the only board. I'm a skateboarder. Not good, but I love riding it. Fun fact: I graduated in 96, my high school ring (which I still wear everyday) has skateboarding, and fishing engraved into it.
  14. I love these trips. I REALLY enjoy reading about your adventures. You always give the little things that don't really amount to fishing, but they make it the adventure. i.e. the picnic table with stickers, the picture of Pat cooking the mixed fries, you get the point. I really appreciate it, when I get to CO next time, I'm gonna tell some one about your story. Wouldn't it be something if it was someone you met along the way?
  15. Ouch! Seems to be going around lately.
  16. Very neat trip. Always great when the whole family catches.
  17. I appreciate your tutorial. Im no rocket scientist, sometimes simple things baffle me.
  18. Great report as always. I can't help but notice you are one less. I haven't heard, is Sadie ok?
  19. I'm really sad to read about the fish lost. The picture of the Florida beach is devastating. Learning that more have sank, and that they don't just float, really makes you see the impact.
  20. Welcome back.
  21. I remember that. I grew up in St Louis city. Went down by the brewery one day at the height of the flood. Climbed one of the flood gates that close off the street from the river. Maybe a foot from the top of the gate the water was quickly flowing. I was stupid enough to climb on the top of the gate, but smart enough to quickly get back down and get out. Nothing happened, but it's a memory I hope to never recreate.
  22. John, that sounds amazing! Happy birthday to your wife. I really hope you all enjoyed it. Don't think there will be any leftovers on that one.
  23. I'm curious why you wouldnt take the advice of the outfitter in Montana over the advice of fishermen in MO. Welcome to the forum by the way. Good luck on your trip.
  24. Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry it didn't work out .
  25. That tray is very interesting. What is it?
